How kakashi may have unlocked his MS

At first I always assumed Kakashi's MS was unlocked by killing Rin. There has never been anything said about her death and yet we know she is dead. We have also seen flashbacks of Rin and Obito whenever Kakashi talks about losing people special to him and it is known that MS is unlocked by killing the closest person to sharigan user. However, I always felt there was something off about that because I couldn't figure out why Kakashi would kill her.

However, now that we know where Tobi got his eye, it is probably safe to assume it is Obito's other eye. This leads me to believe that is may not be Kakashi who unlocked MS but rather Tobi. It may be possible that sharingans unlock MS as a pair whether or not they are possessed by the same person. I believe that Tobi may have killed the closest person to him while in possession of Obito's right eye and unlocking MS in both. I know many of you my start saying at this point that Kakashi would then question why he gained MS but I would like to point out that how MS is unlocked is not common knowledge. Very few uchiha's ever learned/unlocked this ability. We only ever learned about how it was doing from Itachi and he had to read the stone tablet to find out. Kakashi may have just achieved the ability in battle and may have just assumed it was an evolution of the eye through battle.

TL;DR Kakashi may have gained MS by Tobi possessing Obito's right eye and killing his closest friend since the eyes are linked

Not now anyways. Everyone goes through hardship though to become evil. He obviously has a backstory as to how he got how he is now. Given the way the manga has gone with him saying to naruto that making promises can become hallow if you fail I think that may have been what he did. Made a promise to someone close to him, failed and came up with a way to solve all the problems that he couldn't solve with conventional means

I really don't believe that killing your closest friend = mangekyo, more like the emotional trigger of it can unlock it. Itachi didn't kill shisui when he gained his MS, shisui took his own life. Also, shisui was like the pinnacle of 'good uchiha' characters, he had MS and it's pretty obvious he didn't kill a friend to gain it's power. I'm sure something similar happened with Kakashi.

Just my opinion anyway. I think Itachi and Tobi made all that shit up, it's really the emotional trigger that gives you mangekyo (losing someone close, not killing them per-se).

This would be a great theory... I thought the same thing untilllll.... I realized Tobi has been using time space jutsu since he fought minato. Kakashi couldn't use his untilled after the time skip....

i like this ideal especially since that could be maybe true especially if and i dont beleive this but the conspiracists will think it, If tobito is him then he could have killed rin bc remember he loved rin, so he gets out of the rock thanks to zetsu recovering him and telling him madaras will since zetsu is madaras creation and ideal living on, so he gets out is evil now and he kills rin gets the mangekyo goes bat s*** and goes crazy and wants to kill errboddy..

lol this isnt a theory just a statement .. and i dont beleive it just sayin it for the sake of this topic
