Yes, it can even summon Konan to fight for it. For this scenario, Gedo Mazo can use the soul dragon by itself. Nagato himself is forbidden from entering the fight. Gedo Mazo cannot be genjutsu due to it having its eyes covered, but it can sense Itachi's whereabouts, like when it fought against Hanzo's army. This is alive Itachi, no Edo. Animal Path is not present but her summons are, so killing animal path to defeat the summons is not allowed.

So can Itachi overcome Preta Path, 8 summons, Gedo Mazo + Konan? If it's too much of a stomp for Team Preta, i'll restrict it to just Gedo Mazo and Preta Path.

You do know that animal path can also summon the other paths also right? This obviously goes to team nagato as he will be focusing solely on those two paths + summons and konan + gedo mazo is overkill. . .

If Jiraiya was able to take out 2/3 (can't remember and can't be bothered to search) Path's, it would be a piece of cake for Itachi since Itachi has the abbility to use Genjutsu alot better than Jiraiya and Jiraiya used his only Genjutsu jutsu to kill atleast 1 of the path's. Thus giving Itachi an edge over Jiraiya overall and in the fight against Nagato + AGAIN Said it over a 1000 times today Itachi found the Rinnegan's blindspot in no time.

some things Itachi simply cant do that people seem to think he can.

-Spam amaterasu and tsukuyomi,.... At best he can use them 5 or 6 times.
-Sustain Susanoo for a whole fight. Yeah he can use it, but not for a long back and forth fight.

Once you take this away you can think about how this fight would (without plot no jutsu) actually go.
