They Introduced us to what kenpachis eye patch really is

Kenpachi is the only captain of the Gotei 13 who doesn't know the name of his sword, and therefore he is unable to use his bankai. In addition, he never uses kidō and rarely uses flash steps. The Bleach Official Bootleg databook ranks his talent in the former as zero. However, he more than makes up for his faults in sheer power. His spiritual pressure is such that, even when wearing the energy-sealing eyepatch, Kenpachi can fight on-par with and defeat other captain-level opponents

Eyepatch Power Seal: Kenpachi wears an eyepatch created by the Shinigami Research and Development Institute just for him that can seal the bulk of his reiatsu, but since he has so much of it, it does not noticeably hinder him in battle; in fact, it makes him just ahead of most other captains and Espada. The reason for wearing it is that since Kenpachi loves fighting so much, he cannot fight most opponents at full strength without defeating them quickly. Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, Kenpachi wears a new eyepatch. Reiatsu Bells: In order to further give the enemy an advantage, Zaraki wears bells on each spike of his hair. These bells can only be heard by enemies whose reiatsu is concentrated to the point where it can actually defeat Zaraki. Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, Kenpachi reveals he doesn't wear the bells anymore.

This last fight will be dream come true to Kenny, all he ever wanted is to fight on his max and even if he dies he probably will die happy

it's probably what will happend but you forgot that it's bleach and it's all about ICHIGO... now look at it this way...Kubo has great opportunity to show us How kickass Ichigo is, All the Captains we're beated without any probolem... so He shows us Kenpachi to boost it up with his 3 epic kills, now if Buckbeard finished Kenpachi in 1 blow and later Ichigo will kill Buckbeard... it will show how great Ichigo is once again godlike I would say

I still don't understand are those Captains so useless without theyr bankais? That they cant fight and defeat theyr enemyes without it... or is kenpachis spiritual pressure is that high :shrug: Shunsui got cought and lost an eye... that was shocker

It's not that they're helpless without their Bankais. It's that their Bankais are being used against them.

If they were just fighting without their Bankais then they wouldn't be in such trouble. The trouble is they are fighting against the power of their Bankais in the hands of Quincys who are already Captain-class opponents.

It's like if the Sternritters stole a big chunk of Kenpachi's reiatsu and Kenpachi had to fight against that. It doesn't matter who you are or how strong you are. If the enemy steals your power then they become that much stronger because it stacks on top of their already existing powers.

Kenpachi isn't going to fight Buckbeard you people. Get real.

The most realistic possibility will be that he'll fight that Sternritter with long blonde hair as he appears to be Buckbeard's right hand man. Either that or Yama will come to confront his long-time enemy.

The captains know their own bankai's better than anyone else.
so they should be able to put up a good fight against their own Bankai's.

I also don't like how byakuya said that they cannot defeat them without using Bankai, When he hadn't even tried, He would of done much better with just shikai and kido.

It's not like him to carelessly use his bankai like that when knowing it will be Stolen/Sealed

They didn't know they were going to be stolen they thought the process was a seal they could break and just had to figure it out.

Yes but it's still extremely careless for him to use Bankai without even Testing/Studying his opponents Strength/abilities befor hand.
They didn't even wait for mayrui to finnish his analysis, making such a rash assumption isn't like him at all.

kubo seems to be rushing things, unless the captains have some sort of plan.

Personally I think they were over confident because of their experience, like the part last week about fear and overcoming it but he ended up failing to get an advantage.

I think mayuri, kenpachi and the senior captains will be the best bets of turning it around because they have never relied on bankai to win.
