They didnt lose to kids, in my honest opinion they were decently strong at the time but overestimated their own power because they were probably weak before getting the curse mark and so when they got it they though they new what real strength was and thought they were unstopable and thats why they lost.
p.s When i said that "they were dead so they could not have been all that strong" i was joking but i guess its my fault for not realizing it wouldnt translate well over text, and also dont take things so seriously and call me ignorant, im nice to everyone on here so theres no reason for calling me names.

I don't care if you disagree, but most people don't even provide a discussion worthy post you know? Like they just say Genin > Sound Four /thread.. Atleast provide something a little more discussion worthy..
I like this thread but people will underrate them. I'd say most of them were low jounin level ninja. They fodderized two jounin level ninja easily and it took six powerful genins to beat them. Those genins themselves were pretty powerful themselves. Compared to most genin, those rookies that fought the Sound Four were powerful and the jounin during the chunin exams claimed that these aren't your ordinary genins.
Also you guys have to keep in mind that neither Tobirama, Hashirama or Hiruzen were able to destroy their barrier. That is how powerful it was.

And what is their barrier going to do for them in a fight? It requires all four of them to use it. They just gonna hold it there til the person dies due to lack of nutrition?
Only Jirobo, Sakon and Ukon were PNJ. Jirobo battled multiple opponents then lost quite lame and the bro's lost to Kiba...nuff said. Kidomaru was a perfect match up for Neji to win against. Even then Kidmaru found out the byakugan's blind spot which I do not think any other ninja stated in anime or manga have been shown to do. Flute girl just sucks xd.

no they didn't, Sakon was kicking their asses and then Kankuro had to save Kiba. Tayuya was about to kill Shikamaru and then Temari had to save him. Tayuya and Sakon only lost because it was essentially 2 vs 1.

They had to go curse seal lvl 2 against 2 fodder jounin..and they were in a group..and your telling us that they in a group could beat a kage level ninja when they had to go all out on 2 fodder jounin?
We've never seen Genma or Raido fight. For all we know they could be asuma level. And they were the personal bodyguards of the 3rd and they are in the fuedal lord protection squad.

Why? She was about to kill Shikamaru who was the only one to make it to chunin. Her genjutsu is pretty OP and hard to avoid. Shikamaru only escaped because of shadow stitching while other shinobi would be paralyzed and wouldn't be able to do much. Tayuya's worst nightmare was Temari (wind makes sound genjutsu useless) and Tayuya had to then fight a 2 VS 1 against two very smart opponents.

the same genma and raido that are bodyguards of 3rd 4th and 5th hokage as well as being trained by the 4th hokage. oh yeah we know they are powerful they guard the damn hokages. i seen genma stop a sword with a toothpick. they are jonin''s which make them elite so whatever u people read are watch u don't know to much about naruto the sound four were pretty powerful cause they beat the shit out of kiba and shikamru if they didn't get help from sand ninja's they were dead. and the sand ninja's jutsu were basically their weakness +rep good thread

To make it look even worse for the Sound 4, the Genma and Raido's team just finished a very long mission and they complained about being tired:

And it's shown that when Jiroubo trapped them, they were able to go on ahead and avoid fighting, thus being able to recover. Jiroubo recovered by absorbing their chakra, as noted here:

So not only is it pathetic that they needed cursed seal level 2 to beat 2 more or less fodder jounin, but they couldn't even beat a bunch of genin that had a good portion of their chakra absorbed.
Sound 4 is a joke in the grand scheme of things.
I can't imagine how much they would have shit their pants if Kakashi or Gai, even by themselves were the one to encounter them instead of Genma and Raido.
