Before you read this Kishimoto trolled them with Plot no Jutsu.. It was the Sasuke retrieval arc I believe, and was showing how Sasuke got his C2 power-up, and needed to put in supporting characters to upgrade Sasuke into C2.. At this point they are useless fulfilling their job that Kishimoto created them for, so he trolled them by letting Genin kill them off, obviously a hard Plot no Jutsu.. Like I said if you don't look past Kishimoto using them for Sasuke retrieval arc, and Plot no Jutsu trolling them.. No point in reading this thread.

Now we all know the leader of the Sound Four, because Kimimaro was sick at the time.. Now out of all the Sound Four I believe Sakon and Ukon are the strongest simply because of the Kekkai Genkai they posses which I will get to in a second.

This guy wasn't all that brainy, but as for brawny well that's what his specialty was.. This guy was insane could absorb chakra, and had crazy taijutsu..

This style of combat focuses on simple physical attacks augmented with Jirōbō's incredible strength. Using simple palm strikes, shoulder thrusts, knee strikes, and punches, Jirōbō can easily defeat an opponent with one or two blows. The strength of his attacks is greatly increased when his cursed seal is active. For example, in his Cursed Seal Level One, he managed to strike back Chōji who was using his Spiked Human Bullet Tank with just one blow.
Jirōbō specialised in Earth Release techniques to compliment his physical prowess, such as throwing large chunks of earth or forming a defensive earth wall. He can also form a prison of earth to drain his opponent's chakra.

Like the rest of the Sound Four, he had a cursed seal. When in cursed seal level 2 form, his skin became red, his Mohawk became a mane down his back, and he gained ten times his normal strength. Also, by working together, they are skilled in barrier and sealing ninjutsu.
His cursed seal level 2 was nothing special, it would just enchance his ninjutsu, and physical strength. Which would enchance his chakra draining, and Earth style to a tremendous amount.

This guy by far is one of my favorite Sound four, his whole archer style just makes him cool.. He has a couple unique techs, and this is why I believe he was really trolled hard in his fight with Neji.

"Kidōmaru had a unique body structure. He possessed two extra pairs of arms, which essentially gave him a total of eight appendages, relating to his spider theme. These allowed him to add power or variety into his attacks, hold multiple tools, simultaneously perform multiple tasks, and form several hand seals at once. He could also use the multiple arms to pull his bowstring to incredible tension, drastically increasing the arrows' power".
"He also possessed a third eye on his forehead, usually concealed by his forehead protector. In a serious battle, he would reveal the eye. This eye increased his perception and accuracy by a significant amount, allowing him to pinpoint the enemy's vital points with his arrow".
"Kidōmaru had the ability to make spider webs by infusing his spit or sweat with chakra. These threads were extremely sticky, yet durable and elastic. This is because his chakra is constantly flowing through the webs, and they cannot be cut with normal tools such as kunai. He could use them to bind, trap, or even be used for just sensing enemies".
"He could also create a thicker golden liquid that hardened into a chakra-blocking metal on contact with air. By chewing the spider web liquid inside his mouth, he could make it more solid and gum-like, allowing him to form makeshift weapons. As stated by Orochimaru, Kidōmaru was the most intellectual member of the Sound Four which was witnessed in his fierce battle style and strategies. Like the rest of the Sound Four, Kidōmaru was skilled with creating barriers and seals. When in his Level 2 cursed seal form, his skin became dark red, he gained horns on his forehead, shoulders and elbows, grew long white hair, and gained spinnerets enabling him to spin webs without using his chakra. Kidōmaru was an excellent tactical analyser, capable of figuring out his enemy's weak point quickly and efficiently, and also enjoyed playing with his enemies before he killed them.

Tayuya was the only member of the Sound Four to use sound as her primary fighting style, in the form of her Demonic Flute. She was shown to have immense skill using it. In a fight with Shikamaru she was able to dodge attacks and play her flute simultaneously. Her flute, having been her only weapon, allowed her not carry kunai. This made her vulnerable to close-range combat. Nevertheless, Tayuya still used her flute for a variety of purposes; such as controlling her Doki and performing genjutsu Demonic Flute: Phantom Sound Chains.

Whoever hears it will be assailed by the vivid sensation that their limbs have been fastened with sturdy ropes, thus becoming unable to move about freely. Even without physical intervention from an outside force, the body is robbed of all mobility, and consciousness itself progressively fades away. At the same time, they are fed morbid hallucinations, which makes it also possible to run them down mentally. Given that the means of transmission is sound-based, it has a large range of effectiveness, on top of which it can be applied even without knowledge of the enemy's position, which makes for an exceedingly convenient technique.

Tayuya was very intelligent, and could think of excellent strategies, though not quite parallel with those of Shikamaru. According to him, she would probably be very good in shōgi. She claimed to be the second strongest member of the Sound Four, subsequent only to Sakon.

Now since all that is finished, let's get down to the real feats of Sound Four.. Firstly they had a barrier that the Third Hokage couldn't break out of impressive right? Read on..
Four Violet Flames Battle Encampment is A solid, strong barrier formation, performed by four shinobi. Standing in a square formation, the performers are covered from all sides. The faces of the barrier are made from purple flames. The barrier does not allow anyone to enter or exit so long as the ninja are unharmed. The body of anyone touching it will immediately be engulfed in flames. In addition, there is no way to destroy the formation from inside the barrier, since the four people also have a barrier on the inside protecting them. Breaking out is extremely difficult..
Sound Four in my personal opinion together would be close to an unstoppable force, could take out Mid-High level Jounins possibly! But one on one would be around high-level chunin/ Low-level Jounin! They are not fodders, and underrated to much.. Hope this clears things up
