To become intangible he transports individual parts of his body elsewhere as stated by kakashi (i think)..... If this is wrong then its probably a mistake

He was materialized. If he is intangible, his fan is getting through the rocks when he is swinging it.

Kakashi's statement is purely speculation. Konan explained how Tobi's ability works.

That's not quite how it works.

On the picture we see Tobi slipping through a rock, meaning he's intangible at that particular moment. His fan, however, did not slip through Naruto, but was seemingly still tangible.

It only makes sense. Tobi can only change his entire body at once, but the fan is no part of it.

It only makes sense. Tobi can only (de)materialize his entire body at once, but the fan is no part of it.

But the WarFan should dematerialize because Tobi is holding the chain connecting to the WarFan.

That's what this picture basically disproves.

Not everything Tobi is touching while being intangible becomes also intangible. Seemingly it is to his desire whether things he's in contact with become tangible. Meaning that he can be intangible while his fan is solid.

That, or the fan was indeed intangible on the picture provided. It doesn't seem so, however.

Where exactly was it shown? Can't see where exactly he is intangible while hitting Naruto with his fan.

Then he should make Guy intangible when they collide and make him stuck in the ground to make an easy win.

Not the sharpest tool in the box, are we? He's tangible when the fan hits Naruto, yes. But look at the panel next to Tobi slipping through the rock: Naruto is holding the fan in his hand. If it was to change its state along with Tobi, it would've slipped through him. After all, there was still a momentum.

It may also be badly drawn, but it pretty much looks like I just explained it.

Thing is that they never do collide. The moment he's touching Gai with his hand it's over anyway, since he'll suck Gai into his dimension. It's not like Tobi can turn anything intangible that touches any random part of his body. Even if that was the case, Gai is fighting with his nunchucks; they're the only that would turn intangible.

Gai even stated that he's using them so he doesn't make contact with Tobi.

Guy blocked the Warfan Tobi is holding, that was considered as collision.

tobi obviously has weaknesses: 4 ex: his body is intangible but his feat must stay tangible(i think) so he doesn't fall 2 the ground as seen in the latest manga when kakashi hit his foot. if tobi moves his hand with the warfan that means you can take the warfan, or if his body is intangible and hesitance still holding the fan then that means his hand can be harmed since it must materialise 2 hold the fan.
