Chuunin Exam prelims stage.
No restrictions.

I've thought about this one a bit before but there isn't much to say. Both have trashed Team 7 at around the same time in P1.

Depends. Their sound-attacks are quite difficult to evade, especially for Shinobi on Haku's level. Even though his abilities are quite impressive, especially for his age, his basic skills are at most average. And after all, he's facing three Shinobi at once.

If Haku manages to catch them inside Makyo Hyosho I'd give him this match, considering that neither of them has the speed nor the reflexes to dodge his attacks or even hurt him. Naruto and Sasuke survived for the mere reason that Haku didn't want to kill him. Dosu can control his sound-waves with Chakra; but since he doesn't know which Haku is the real one, his only chance would be attacking them all, meaning that his comrades would be hurt, too. Then again, if Haku is serious, Dosu won't even have time to send out his sound-waves.

It also depends on the starting distance, since Haku can create his ice mirrors at any range, which gives him a chance at successfully assaulting them. Their skills are far below Haku's, after all.

Great summary +rep

I was dissapointed when I saw Haku's base stats in the databook because he was hyped to be on par with Zabuza who got a total 9 points higher in all lol.

But I always thought his base skills were supposed to be high with his one-handed seals and quickdraw needle jutsu, idk. But I agree Haku far outclasses the Oto 3

Well, it depends on the way you look at it.

Haku's overall score is low for the mere reason of his physically inferior attributes. His Riki (power) skills are at 1.5, whereas his Taijutsu skills are even just at 1. The same goes for Genjutsu. But Haku is not a hand-to-hand combat type, nor is he a Genjutsu type, so those feats don't really say much. After all, he was a mere child when he died.

However, his intelligence has 4 points, which is considerably high: It exceeds that of Hebi Sasuke, who has shown impressive strategic and analytical skills against Deidara and Itachi, 0.5 points. His speed (4) is only 0.5 points inferior to that of Hebi Sasuke, who moved incredibly fast. His 4 points at seals are quite remarkable, as well. Ninjutsu skills of 3.5 aren't bad, either. He's capable of using Sensatsu Suisho, those flying water-needles he activates by steping onto a water source, which is classified as B-rank; and B-rank techniques are considered Jounin level. Not to mention that his anatomical knowledge isn't considered in his stats.

Haku was a real prodigy. After writing all this I'm convinced that he beats those three.

WOW Finally an analysis that does Haku justice, very well written and i agree completely. Im looking for the quote that i remember Zabuza comparing Haku's level to his own atm I cant remember what his words were.

I honestly think Dosu alone could take this. Kin and Zaku make it easier. Dosu showed speed slightly higher than Sasuke (even with Sharingan activated) at the time. Zaku and Kin did not seem far off.

Although Haku wasn't trying to kill Sasuke and Naruto, he was trying to disable them, and did in fact comment on Sasuke (without Sharingan activated yet) dodging his attempts to do so. Sasuke with Sharingan was able to dodge Haku's needles outright. Therefore I don't think Haku's accuracy is as deadly as some say it is. If Haku was that accurate, he could have at least easily paralyzed Naruto on the first time he hit him, ending their fight without having to kill him (just as he wanted).

Haku was able to get a very impressive hit on Zabuza during his debut, but Zabuza was standing still then, and Haku was able to wait to get a good shot without fear of his opponent "escaping." The same can't be said in an actual fight.

If Sasuke without Sharingan was able to dodge Haku's paralyzing shots on the fourth or so go-round, Dosu should be able to dodge Haku's killing shots earlier in the match (the killing power of Haku's needles without a good shot wasn't that great, Sasuke survived with several in him). Dosu also has his gauntlet to help him, which has been shown able to shield him from projectiles.

In addition to that, Zaku could react to and blow away Sakura's projectiles from inches away. Haku's needles are faster, but they also have longer to travel. Zaku could also just do what he was planning to do to Shino and fire his air vents at both sides of the stage between Haku's pass-throughs.

That's just taking ice mirrors into account. The rest of Haku's attacks aren't nearly as effective against the Sound 3. Haku could perform hand-signs with only one hand free, but both Dosu and Zaku could also perform powerful jutsu with only one hand, in Dosu's case a potential 1-hit-KO.

WOW welcome to Naruto base, I will now +rep you for one of the most solid 1st posts I've ever seen. Personally at this point I believe that Haku is clear skill levels beyond the Oto 3, Remember that even when not using the Ice Mirrors, Haku (while weakened) was able to cleanly intercept Kakashi's raikiri, to the surprise of Kakashi (who had his 3Tomoe activated) an Zabuza alike. But you make excellent points about the apparent lack of killing power to Haku's senbon, though I believe this was largely due to him not wanting to kill Sasuke and Naruto as you mentioned.

Also in the interest of supporting the sound team, what effect if any do you believe Zaku's sound wave blast would have on the Ice Mirrors? Similar to Naruto's kyuubi chakra outburts maybe? Hmm.

Haha thanks I always do, putting Naruto characters on a 0-5.0 scale is asking for trouble
