Well this link will give you all the basics so save it somewhere save ^^ the thread that explained it more looks to have been moved lol so:
Time frame.
It basically means keep in time with what your opponent is doing and always start your turn where your opponent does, but remember to realistic. If they are forming seals to use a raiton jutsu, why would you counter with fuuton? How did you know to do that in the short timeframe of handseals to execusion. You need to explain how you do what you do within the time frame. Does that make any sense? Lol

*Preform the hand seals Rat, Tiger, Dog, Ox ,Rabbit, Tiger and inhale deeply. I gather my Fire Chakra in my stomach and force it to my mouth and shape the chakra into multiple balls and spit them at you rapidly in an unpredictable pattern*

Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. Like the flames, the shuriken can be controlled with chakra. *As you spit your fire I quickly form a single hand seal and spit out a large volume of water that lifts up to form a rotating wall around me. As each of your fire balls hits the wall then sizzle away and leave behind asmall amount of smake.*

The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.
