Tobi is slower than minato's FTG and took time to warp him on the cliff....and konan's explosion...yet he instantly (like minato) warped sasuke from onooki's dust tech.
I aprove of this analysis, great job! people who can't look past overall speed forget that Tobi's S/T is nothing like FTG and has many more uses that make it superior

@Thread, i agree man that is one hell of a jutsu he has, and people really underestimate his ability because Minato evaded him, but they forget that he also uses S\T on a whole other lvl (he can evade almost any attack if he has a mark somewhere), i don't see any one else doing what Minato did, so Tobi can stomp many powerful shinobi just by using S\T.

I don't understand why people don't get how great his technique is, by far the most versatile technique in the manga, and the best S/T by quite a distance +rep
I agree with your analysis. The examples of Fuu and Torune just show how quickly the kidnapping actually is, and I don't think it's reasonable to say you can counter it without a S/T ninjutsu of your own. Also, his S/T technique surpassed Minato and Tobirama's because it didn't require seals, not because it was faster.
If his intention is to kill, he could have done that in an instant by aiming for his opponent’s heart or for the head. Unfortunately, for plot purposes, his aim was always to capture or warp them in to his dimension. Thus, making his S/T avoidable in so many instances.
To OP: You created a thread just to shut Celestial Tera Blast up. Well, I don’t think he’ll be convinced. He even believed Nagato > current-Madara. I’d say each to his opinion!

:worshippy::worshippy::worshippy: Thank you for this thread, +rep. Also, it is my opinion that you can't escape his warping ability unless you have a S/T technique of your own. Also, I'm glad you pointed out that FTG is not faster than Tobi's migration. They're going through space at the same speed.
Hehe, I guess we could all agree that both techniques are awesome and neither should be underestimated. One last thing. I place Tobi 1st in every list simply because of his S/T tech. Not because of his other abilities such as Rinnegan. Seriously, aside from his S/T tech, this guy barely uses ninjutsu and I still believe he could take anyone.

Yeah I agree. But we have to ask ourselves whether it would be enough to capture the Jinchurikis by this way. Not only you have to summon the Statue of Gedo Mazo, Tobi didn't have access to, he would have to actually beat them by knocking them out for example, since they wouldn't let their Biju absorb on their own will. Tobi wouldn't have managed to capture all Jinchurikis on his own; warping them in his dimension wouldn't actually be helpful for him since he need their Biju for being sealed in the statue of Gedo Mazo.
Further I'm asking myself whether Tobis intangibility protects him from Kyuubis Yin Chakra, maybe Naruto can hit him regardless of it.
When Naruto hit Tobi directly while being in his Kyuubis Chakra Cloak, Tobi said that he should've slipped through him actually.
