(Part one) Hiruzen was said to be the most powerful shino, so I assumed he was stronger than the first and second, but I also thought that the fourth some how had more potential for power than all of them but was cut down before he reached prime.
Hiruzen defeat hashi and tobi who seemed kinda weak in that fight, despite the fact that the edo was meant to turn them into killing machines, this in turn made hiruzens feat seem less amazing.
Now we find out that hashi is actually really strong and therefor hiruzen should be really strong, edo tensei does not just make the kill the chosen target but their actions are also controlled by the master.
So retcon tells us that hiruzens attacks are on a ridiculous scale.
The control of edo's extend beyond just "see that guy? Kill him".
