Maybe not Elder son , but clearly some one old and with a motive = He is sicken about the world how it's now , He wants to change it.

He does it with the same amount of passion as Naruto does.
This one is going to take some more thought. I realize that the two storylines must progress in parallel in order to gain full understanding.

On the subject of Naruto's passion, this was something that Naruto acknowledged to his Dark half and he thanked him for giving him the strength to not give up. Then after a hug his Dark half suddenly,,,,,,,, gives up? Wait, didn't he just say that his Darkness gives him that willpower? No, his Darkness will never give up.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned somewhere in the previous 424 pages, but I'll throw my 2 cents in the well here.

The following statement is under the assumption that Senju and Uchiha DNA is required to unlock the Rinnegan:

Is it entirely possible that after Madara was infused with the cells of Hashirama, he used the Rinne Tensai to resurrect Izuna. Following the resurrection, he utilized the same process used with himself and Hashirama, and infused Izuna with the cells of Tobirama?

This could explain how Tobi acquired the Time Space Jutsu. And, since he would be technically "half Tobirama", I wouldn't put it past the writer to adopt half the name for Izuna, as "Tobi"

He was expecting nagato to revive him ..... but now seing nagato dint .... why the hell he would rather be a normal madara when he can have unlimeted chakra ..... immortalty and he can do evertything and no one can stop him

he is more op in edo from then in real life form

In Edo Tensei = One cannot evolve.

As Mortal = one can become stronger or weaker.

I'd say its the elder son. That would be IMHO more interesting than Izuna or someone else.
Dude ... the most common anti-argument of Izuna haters is: "Tobi being a 90 years old dude? too stupid and cliche"

Didn't Elder Son live like centuries if not a millennia before the start of the series? So 90 years old is bad, but 1000+ years old is okay?

makes so much sense ...

I think when Tobi is unmasked, it will be Yamato. Yamato of course being controlled by the real Tobi with a stake. That way fans get trolled when he is unmasked, Naruto and Kakashi get upset that Yamato has been killed and turned into a puppet, and the Tobi mystery will still be unsolved :D

Edge, let's review. You jumped in late in a conversation I had about why Setsuna seems, at least to me, to be the best candidate for Tobi. You made the assertion that the only reason I had chosen him was due to looks and that I had presented no other evidence as to why he would be a good pick. You had obviously not read my earlier posts where I went through a checklist of reasons as to why he would be a great candidate for Tobi's identity, so I reposted them for your benefit. That brings us up to now.

So, to what does your "And?" refer? Is your "And?" somehow supposed to refute my checklist of reasons why Setsuna makes sense as Tobi? Because I don't see it.

Has anyone mentioned that the closest we got to knowing Tobi's identity is the first moments in which he appeared before an awakening Sasuke? As soon as he took off his mask Itachi's amaterasu activated and we have never been presented with anything since then. For me, that is one of 'red flags', amongst many others, from with which we can conclude just who the **** is Tobi?????
I think, for me, that Tobi is Izuna. I used to think it was Obito, but Obito was such an insignificant character in the series as a whole the Kishi really wouldn't write him in as the all-ending-antagonist(that would be a big bummer). I can see how it might be Tobirama, I mean hell, the dude's name is Tobi, how more obvious of a clue could that be? But think about the small glimpses of Tobi's face that has been shown in the manga and they don't match up at all with Tobirama, only thing that does match up with him and Tobirama is the space-time ninjutsu.
Back to Izuna, I'm basing this simply off the rare glimpses of Tobi's face that have been shown thus far for now -- His eyes, the shape of them, the form of them, were always reminiscent of Madara's and in fact, almost identical to Izuna's. His hair, the shape of his head, and that rare silhouette we saw when he tried to show himself to Sasuke, all resemble, albeit vaguely, that of Izuna. Now let's factor in all the knowledge Tobi has shown thus far, of the villages, the inner-workings of Konoha, secrets etc. -- this would confirm that he's definitely someone from Madara's time or about the same time, maybe even before(who knows) point is Tobi's immense knowledge of the ninja world itself is another clue as to who he really is, and in the case of my opinion, adds more to the question as to whether or not he is Izuna.
And another thing, why didn't Kabuto make any mention of Izuna during the scenes where it was revealed he revived Madara. Or in the scenes where he's describing how Edo Tensei works and how you need the living tissue of the person(or whatever) to revive them, alluding the the failed ventures of people he might of revived, you think that Izuna would have at least come up once? It makes perfect sense for him to at least attempted it since Izuna was buried when he "died"? Let's reason that he wouldn't have interest in reviving him because he had no eyes, even then, remember that whole room filled with Uchiha's eyes that Tobi was shown in when he took Nagato's eyes back?
And what strikes me also as odd, is when Tobi mentions that Izuna had "willingly" gave his eyes to his brother Madara, sharing an oddly intimate and maybe even personal account of what happened because, heeeellllo, the bastard is Izuna!!

That's what I got so far, going to ponder for a bit then add more!

It's not Izuna. Madara knows that if he dissapears as an Edo, he is gone nobody is going to revive him. Why would Tobi leave his brother's Edo form in Kabuto's control? Unless of course he hates Madara. Tobi is also worried about Kabuto's failure and Edo Tensei's release, when he should be jumping for joy. "Yay!! big brother can never die and has unlimitted chakra how wonderful." Unless he hates Madara. If Tobi is Izuna why wouldn't Madara simply teach him the hand seals and be revived as an Edo to continue their work? Unless he hates Madara. Why would Tobi be concerned about how Madara is perceived? It's not like he was planning on winning a popular election. He was banking on people's fear of Madara's name. Do you think Izuna was trying to correct a perception of ruthlessness. "Nah, nah you guys got him all wrong. He didn't steal my eyes. I know he seems hard on the outside, but really he's all warm an gooey on the inside". Lmao....

Conclusion: Your theory only works if Izuna hates Madara. Since the theory also hinges upon Madara resurrecting Izuna, he probably wouldn't hate him. Also if he hated him he wouldn't care what people thought of him, and frankly even if he loved him he probably wouldn't care either.. Izuna is dead and Madara has no one else that he would be able to trust to perform Edo Tensei.

Hey guys haven't been on the forums in like forever so don't flame me if this has been said but what if Tobi WAS Madara, and edo madara was actually Izuna and Madara transplanted his eyes onto him to trick people. As they're brothers and pictures depict them as almost identical, it is plausible.

About Izuna hating Madara:

1) Kabuto says "I am unsure if the fake Madara will act as planned." to Madara.
2) Madara also says, "Things aren't going to plan very well, that he was able to revive me in this kind of state."

Don't assume Izuna doesn't hate Madara, it's possible.

Is Tobi bi-polar then? Why be concerned about people thinking he's a ba****d who stole his brother's eyes, and try to correct it? If he hates him due to some wrong doing, then the more folks that hate and fear Madara as a ba****d the better it serves Tobi's purposes. Also, you can't say he is driven by his ego and is upset at the mention that Madara somehow bested him and took the eyes. If ego drove the correction why use a false identity? He has already stated that he is no one and that he doesn't want to be anyone, so ego isn't what would motivate him to correct the perception either.
