For the people who think Hiruzen is stronger than Minato?

1: Becoming Hokage means you're the strongest Shinobi in the Village ok so that means Minato obviously is stronger than Hiruzen. Well According to wiki when Naruto part 1 Naruto was 12 years old meaning Fox attacked 12 years ago in Naruto part 1 and so meaning Hiruzen died at age 68. 68-12=56 Meaning when Fox attacked, Hiruzen was 56. So I'm sure Hiruzen was in his 50's when Minato became Hokage. Not his Prime but Im sure Minato would defeat Hiruzen Prime but I don't know just my opinion.

2: Even in his prime Hiruzen wouldn't of done a good job as Minato protecting the village against the Tailed Beast Bomb let alone the Kyuubi as seen in this picture. He teleported the Bomb and the Kyuubi.

3: Fighting Tobi and the Kyuubi, Hiruzen prime or at his old age wouldn't of beat Tobi because he doesn't have FTG which he put a mark on Tobi and hit him and I don't think Tobi would let 3rd Hokage seal the 9 Tails with Tobi just standing there. No wonder they call Minato the Yellow Flash he beat Tobi 1st then proceeded to seal the 9 tails. How can Hiruzen beat a spacetime jutsu user if he doesn't have any? Tobi everything passes through him.

I know he had help from Kushina when sealing the Kyuubi.

Spoke my mind I am so sorry if i offended Hiruzen fans I just spoke my mind on this topic. I personally think Minato protected the village way better than Hiruzen or his prime could and is stronger than Hiruzen prime. Please tell me what you guys think. Nice words please. =)

Oh lord, this is not going to end well

All I'm going to say is that Kabuto and Iruka both said that Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage. The manga>your opinion. I don't care if it was 8-10 years ago

Also the databooks say that Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage, databooks>your opinion. I don't care that we haven't had a databook in four years now

I agree the third hokage was helpless during the attack, he had to wait for Minato to come save the village, Mind u minato just fought tobi and still went to to save the village and beat the nine tails while the 3rd stood by

I'm tired so i'll keep this short and sweet;

  • Hiruzen was outright called the strongest Hokage, a statement which took into account Minato.
  • He retired at said age (56) which presented Minato with the opportunity to become Hokage.
  • Minato's abilities suited the situation.
  • The ABC logic which you used cannot be applied in Naruto as characters abilities suit different things. Guy > Kisame does not mean Guy is better than everyone who would lose to Kisame.

*have

anyway, are you just basing your entire argument on Minato beating Tobi and sealing Kyuubi? I didn't see any comparison between Hr=iruzen and Minato's powers.

Actually no. Iruka was merely recalling the opinion of a large amount of people. It claimed;

"He was said to be....."

Note: He was said. Not "I think Hiruzen was.....".

Another minato and hiruzen thread. Wow! Let me be simple. Minato had the potential to be the best but never did because he died. Safe to say minato wasn't in his prime. Stop this. Its ridiculous. We never saw neither minato or hiruzen in their prime so this debate is worthless. Just stop. Stop. God please. Stop. Its worst than a sasuke defects everybody thread

nice thread, I agree Minato has outdone Hiruzen or anyone in the village on that given night. But its not possible to compare Minato with Hiruzen head to head (especially a prime Hiruzen who is known as the strongest hokage)..However, before he used the reaper death seal, he said to Orochimaru "you can destroy me, but a stronger hokage will emerge and protect konoha" that showed Minato in flashback so it kind of implied Minato is stronger than Hiruzen. The problem is, there is way too many contradictory information out there in the manga, there is no definite answer to the question who is stronger.

First of all i think you are completely wrong....
Second of all why do people keep bringing hiruzen up, nobody knows what "prime" hiruzen is.

This is only possible if Minato had lived longer or showed more than just his sealing and FTG abilities.

You present some pretty good points though; Stopping Tobi, Stopping Kurama's TBB and Sealing Kurama are some pretty huge feats.
