That barrier is for incoming attacks where he sets it and the object/attack enters the barrier. C4 doesnt work that way at all. If deidora does get the chance to use c4, that could be the end of minato

Minato isn't a sensor good enough to realize what happened once it exploded, Thus he won't resort to s/t barrier...
Just like sasuke thought it was a dud, No matter who you are unless you have a doujutsu or you''re a sensor on shees level, You will think it's a dud..
That jutsu is heavily underated..
And as I said, Minato is only winning this if he can beat deidara, or tag deidara, BEFORE he gets on his bird and goes aerial
Is that possible? maybe, yeah sure, But can he avoid the c4? no

Like you say yourself, when Sasuke saw that, he directly wanted to escape from it. So Minato will try to escape from it also and since he can teleport himself, it's easy for him to escape.
But Sasuke thought to escape cuz he thought it was too huge that the explosion scale would have been too great and he didn't have a jutsu powerful enough to protect him. Minato on the other hand has jutsus that could help him to avoid or protect himself against this.

It's Jiraya's jutsu, but i think Minato must have a similar jutsu since he is a master in sealing or barrier ninjutsus(but it's only a possibility i must admit).But even if we suppose can't do that, he can also decide to protect himself with this:

Like you can see, when he puts this barrier every, it's difficult to go in(Sandaime try but he can't).
Its just speculation to assume he has that jutsu...
Nagato is jirayas student, and Jiraya said nagato mastered every jutsu he thought him easily.. Do you see people going around saying nagato has all jiraya's jutsu?
The other thing is Minato won't randomly activate that jutsu...Not when to him he has nothing to sense... You are basing your arguments on things that won't happen what so ever if they fight..

he'll either start running like sasuke, or ftg to konoha.. once he thinks the bomb is finished exploding he'll come back to continue the fight..
THIS is where he dies... , When he comes back he'll see no explosion nothing and just like sasuke he'll either question if it was a dud, or if he canceled the explosion when he teleported..
By this time it's too late.. The cloud of nano bombs is already sorrunding the area, and he's inhaled too much..
None of deidara's abilities would have cause for minato or jiraya to use that barrier... He doesn't go invisible etc..
