The Legend Of Korra - Mako and Bolin

Mako and Bolin can bend different elements so they either had parents which could each bend one of them, or they're not brothers, but step-brothers.

It has never been suggested that they could be step-brothers. In fact, they said they were brothers, but it could be a nice plot twist.

they probably had two different ppl from diff nations marry each other. in this case one of them is from the earth kingdom and the other is from the fire nation

Naw, I'm pretty sure one parent had fire and the other had earth. That simple. Plus, all type of benders except water benders live together now so the bloodline doesn't only consist of one element

thats not a plot twist and why would mako go so far to protect his step brother? i go with the first one but i still say bending has almost nothing to do with gentecis and just with where your raised. because the sun warriors wern't born with fire bending they learned it from the dragons

why would he not go that far. It's like saying because he's a step brother he doesn't mean anything. Maybe because he had lived on the streets with him since they were kids?


Also, on topic: Probably two different bender parents, as their personality is so different as well.

lets say its water and air, the possibilities are that the child is one of the 3

an airbender

Bending is genetic. That is why the only air benders left are from Aang's bloodline.

Their parents have never been shown and we don't know nothing about them.
But as we seen that Mako is a Fire Bender and Bolin is an Earth Bender, their parents must be benders too, unknown which had which Element.

i doubt it. that means anyone from any nation can learn all bending arts.

dont go into genetics its too complicated for this show. its simple each member of the their respective nation has the potential to perform their respective bending art.

the avatar is no different in genetic terms than the others of his/her nation. korra is no different from her family but she just has the spirit of avatar i guess allowing her to do all 4 bending arts

It was confirmed long before the series started that they come from a multicultural family. It was also confirmed that they grew up on the streets of Republic City, so they have been orphans for quite a while. If they would be stepbrothers, it would mean both of them should have had another parent, unless those were already dead to at the time.

Seems all way too farfetched for something that's not really so important. By now we have seen countless of examples of multicultural families, so it's nothing special. Also it's not because you're a bender that your parents were benders and vice versa. Of that too there are enough examples.
