If he is going to be sucked, he covers himself with a big amount of trees and melts with them. Madara was the only one who was able to see through Hashiramas clones.

Hashirama can use ten clones, hide himself in the trees and let 10 clones fight against Nagato.

Tajuu Mokuton Bunshins are a lot of better than normal ones and can tank Shinra Tenseis. The toeads were only knocked down 'cause of their mass.

Chibaku Tensei will suck up the whole tree world, it will mainly consists out of trees later because of the amount. Hashirama cannot be crushed by his own trees, 'cause he can cover himself with them and merge. When he merged himself with his trees, he will be safe for being crushed. The Tajuu Mokuton Bunshins are way more resistant and robust, they can be use in an actual fight, not like the Kage Bunshins who are dead after one punch. The Shinra Tensei isn't useful for one shot the opponent, it just pushes awa its targets. Bee tanked this large skale Shinra Tensei easily, without any injuries and transformed himself into the Hachibimode. Yeah, the Shinra Tnsei will push the Clones away maybe, but they can still attack Nagato again and again. While Hashirama is hiding himself in some tendril and comes out surprising in order to crush him, just like Madara did it to Tsunade with his Susanoo.

And above, don't forget his recovery, Madara admitted that Tsunades recovery with the seal is comparable to Hashirama. How can Nagato kill him with his techniques actually?

And we don't know Nagatos elementary techniques. Hashirama can also use Suiton and Doton, but we can't say whether he would change the landscape with his Suiton by creating a ocean or Doton by creating mountains.

Actually Hashiramas trees are more massive than rocks, for example Madaras Mokuton tendrils crushed Oonokis big stone golem. It is simply the amount, Hashirama covers the whole landscape with them, only one tendril is 10 times bigger than a human. If Chibaku Tensei would crush the surroundings into splinters, Chibaku Tensei would consist out of pebbles or powder. But no, it consists out of big rocks. It attracts the surroundings, yes, but it doesn't vrush them into splinters.
