1) Itachi said that said that only someone with the same bloodline limit can break through his Tsukiyomi.

2) That's a theory with no real evidence.

3) The pressure of Amaterasu can be sensed, but Tsukiyomi is a whole different technique. And of course Nagato knows when he's caught in Tsukiyomi, but you're saying that he could just disturb his own chakra? Itachi's Tsukiyomi affects you almost in instant, Nagato doesn't have the time to do it.

1.He said that his illusionary technique cannot be broken quoting other stuff is irrelevant because he said in the first place the technique as a whole could not be broken but he was wrong

2.Theory huh then the Rinnegan cannot see chakra like the Byakagun and Nagato is not an amazing chakra sensor? Ao broke through the technique with one byakagun looking through the technique seeing its chakra go figure wheter a Rinnegan using Chakra Sensor would know wheter there in it and break it

3.Nagato can sense the pressure of MS techniques and btw he didnt even use Amateseru he used it on Naruto to activate the crow so yeah he sensed him looking at naruto with his eyes bleeding activating a technique.
Itachi cannot break Genjutsu mind traps in one second but even if he could and were being uchiha fanboys like you are,Nagato can break through genjutsu disturbing his chakra straight away worst case scenerio is Nagato even with multiple summons, chakra sensing and abilty to see through genjutsu is caught in it.Then he would be in a heap on the floor which Itachi would try attack him and Nagato would use a shinra tensei with no handseals .

Well let us make a proper observation:

1. What are genjutsu?

Genjutsu (??; Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques") are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals. However, the primary difference between the two is that the effects of genjutsu are illusory; instead of attacking the victim's body, like taijutsu or ninjutsu, genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses.
Genjutsu is created when a ninja extends their chakra flow through the cerebral nervous system of their opponent to control their mind, thereby affecting their five senses.

2. How can a genjutsu be broken?

To combat the effects of genjutsu, there are several options:

a.The ninja needs to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra; this is called Genjutsu Dissipation (???, Genjutsu Kai). This can also be done by an unaffected ninja by applying a sudden surge of chakra into the affected person. In addition, tailed beasts can break their jinchuriki out of genjutsu in a similar fashion if they have a good enough cooperation, as seen in Killer B's case.
b.Another is through intense pain not caused by the genjutsu and utilising the resulting pain to bring their senses back in order (of the first two options, the latter seems more effective in most situations, or at least is the easiest).
c.Another option is accessible only to Sharingan wielders. Members of the Uchiha clan can break or see through genjutsu using their Sharingan. Breaking Tsukuyomi is possible with an ordinary Sharingan, but requires a lot of skill.
d.Sharingan wielders can also use their dojutsu to liberate any ally caught in an enemy genjutsu by casting their own genjutsu on them, literally breaking into the illusionary world they are imprisoned in order to free them. This can be achieved through eye contact alone.[3]
e.Ordinary people can sometimes train their eyes (without Sharingan) to break genjutsu through unknown means, like Deidara.
f.One can prevent a person from casting genjutsu using obstructive techniques like the Hiding in Mist Technique to prevent one from being trapped by an ocular genjutsu as Zabuza demonstrated against Kakashi.
e.In the anime it was shown that strong smells like that from the Chilli Pepper Bombs, can counteract genjutsu.

In spite of these methods, some forms of genjutsu like Itachi's Tsukuyomi and Shima and Fukasaku's Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant may not be broken easily, either due to their near-instant effect like the former, or their ability to render one unconscious and paralysed altogether like the latter. In addition, one must realise that he or she is under the effects of genjutsu before attempting to break out of it. This can be done by observing the changes in one's own chakra like Karin's chakra-sensing ability.

But Because genjutsu affects activity throughout the Prosencephalon structure of the brain, humans, dogs and other species of mammal are therefore all affected by genjutsu; however, the kikaichu, like all insects, lack such a structure to their brains, and so do not even notice it: as Shino Aburame put it, insects are ruled almost solely by five powerful senses alone, which makes them immune to genjutsu and gives the Aburame clan an ability to detect it when nobody else can.

CONCLUSION: IF ur caught in TSUKOYOMI ur practically dead. But Itachi will need eye contact with the original target first, eye contact with path or clones will not do. Also same goes for KA except for the fact that it is one hit chance and its effects are counterable as it is not instant.

3. How to combat (Uchiha) genjutsu?

Best way to survive the likes of Itachi and Shisui genjutsu is to NOT to get caught in them and have a supporter, cos getting caught in them wld mean death. But the greatest disadvantage of their genjutsu is that they need eye contact first. So long rangers and clones (Paths) has a advantage as putting one genjutsu on one clone or path is enough to put them all in genjutsu? Remember genjutsu needs to controls one's chakra system, so is controlling one path or clone's chakra system system enough to control the chakra system of the originas? I dont think so as the paths share only the same field of vision nothing else and clones are indivisual imitations.

Now lets consider Nagato's special cases:

a. Nagato share the vision field of the six paths, but is putting one genjutsu on one path is enough to put them all in genjutsu? Remember genjutsu needs to controls one's chakra system, so is controlling one paths chakra system system enough to control the chakra system of all the paths? I dont think so as the paths share only the same field of vision nothing else. Also nagato can just stop transfering chakra to a path and 'restart' it to get it to normal, as they are puppets not living things and can feel pain.
b. Nagato can do a non mammal summon like a reptile or a bug to use their field of vision and keep his eyes closed to aviod genjutsu. This wld work as only mammals are affected by genjutsu not others.
c. The cyborg path may be immune to genjutsu as he is part machine.

Here's my take any jutsu can be countered. Whether it's genjutsu, ninjutsu, or taijutsu the only question is whether or not the target of the jutsu has the skill to do so.
Firstly, Itachi could not actually state accurately that Tsukiyomi could not be broken as he would have to try it against every person under every situation to say with absolute certainty whether or not it could be broken
Secondly: If every technique has it's weakness as Itachi has said Tsukiyomi and KA are no exception to the rule. Tsukiyomi is not much more than a very powerful jutsu that alters time perception and tortures the 5 senses. Which is essentially what genjutsu does anyway, he merely does it with much more power. So it stands to reason that anyone who is particularly skilled in disarming genjutsus would be able to stop Tsukiyomi provided they have the mental fortitude to withstand the torture. With KA everything is based on the target not realizing they are being controlled, because once they do realize it they can break it. Which means during the use of KA one must not try to make the victim do anything to extremely out of character, like attacking a team mate because that would be a dead give away to them that they are being controlled. Or if a person is particularly good at sensing they could realize they are trapped in genjutsu and break free.
Restrictive or Paralysis genjutsus are very dangerous how ever people with great mental strength will be able to break free.
Essentially I believe all genjutsus are counterable by the same basic methods, but as the prowess of the user goes up and the effect of the genjutsu becomes more extreme, the mental fortitude of the victim and the chakra control of the victim must go up in correlation to break the genjutsu.

Its a theory i made a while ago, its not canon. Nothing more than a theory, which cannot be used in an argument, until its been stated in the manga/DB
While the manga may not specifically say things, we can reason based on what has been displayed in the manga and stringing together chains of what logically would make sense. This is what argumentation is. It is following a sequence of facts and clues to say what logically should be and continuing from there. If it has been directly stated there is no reason for argumentation. For instance if I say all mammals have hair. And Mole rats are mammals. But Rufus is a naked mole rat. Does that mean Rufus still has hair? Yes it does. The name naked mole rat and the appearance of the rat seems to say that Rufus wouldn't have hair. But given that we know the first two statements are true then Rufus must have hair if he is a mammal. Likewise we can infer things from manga examples.

What Uchiha Itachi said about his Tsukuyomi could be true, but then again we never saw him used it against someone who acquired rinnegan so all we can do here is to speculate unless you could provide us some actual links were Nagato was caugth by Itachi's so-called Tyukoyomi & he fell for it, or can't counter it at all.

Imo, Tsukoyomi is a very powerful genjutsu & can kill an opponent if Itachi wished too. But I don't think it can/will one-shot kill Nagato for several reaons: It's a short ranged jutsu, it requires eye contacts, & Nagato's mind were protected against some genjutsu traps, not to mention Nagato must have a knowledge of how Itachi's Tsukoyomi works.

Furthermore, if that jutsu can really one-shot kill Pain, I wondered why edo-Itachi failed to cast it against Edo-Nagato when he, BM Naruto, & Bee clashed with Pain. Edo-Itachi has all the time in the world to use it against Pain during their battle. Afterall, Itachi usually start the fight using genjutsu; be it Tsukoyomi or whatsoever sharingan genjutsu he has on his sleeve.

Firstly plz define what you mean by great mental strength.
Secondly all genjutsu's are not counter-able by the same method, by your logic you can counter izanagi by release or high chakra control, which is not possible. there are genjutsu's that require more than just the ability to release genjutsu's.

Firstly great mental Strength:
What Oonoki displayed overcoming the sleep inducing pollen
What Tsunade displayed overcoming hemophobia
What Jiraiya displayed forcing himself back to life
What Naruto has displayed countless times
What Orochimaru displayed moving despite being in a paralysis genjutsu

Your premise of Izanagi is flawed as the victim of Izanagi is also the user and could probably determine if they want to end it early but wouldn't do so as they are losing their eye anyway so it's better to use it as long as possible.

Though Izanami does have very specific conditions, so I will grant you that. But it's conditions are based on it being a non offensive genjutsu as most characters wouldn't be trapped in the genjutsu.

1. The 'mental strength' is a mistranslation, it will be spiritual energy i think, see:
2. Well most illusion based genjutsu can be countered by same methods. But izanagi is not a normal genjutsu, it minipulates reality somehow and u cant release reality.

I know this but you said that all genjutsu are broken with the same method which was what i was trying to correct.
I see what you mean by mental strength.

This is getting out of hand. Shisui's genjutsu allows him to enter his victim's mind without them knowing. Now, unless you have excellent sensing abilities like Ao or Nagato, then I'm pretty sure you are as good as dead, and that's if he decides to kill you. However, it has not been mentioned in the manga if his genjutsu can be broken or not, but the manga does state how to break genjutsu. Moreover, every genjutsu is not the same; example is Itachi's Tsukuyomi. He states that it could only be broken by another Uchiha who possesses the Sharingan, but even if you are an Uchiha, that doesn't mean you can actually break it, as you need skill and power to do so.

And I don't know why people are arguing about a genjutsu that has no chance of being used anymore. Just stop making these threads. There's a reason why Danzo and Shisui himself had to die, and why Itachi destroyed Shisui's eye.

A couple of points id like to go into that proves that Uchiha Genjutsu can be broken ill start with the the so called Ultimate Genjutsu Koto Amatsukami. This technique allows the user to manipulate the victim without them knowing creating false experiences. This is a very very dangerous technique and if it hits home it is basically a one shot..yeahhh well almost. This technique was used on Mifune to manipulate him with his eye covered which was detected by Ao who claimed to know this technique through surviving a fight with Shisui Uchiha

Ao even states he saw through the illusion

There is one important point about Mifune that i would like to make that makes Koto Amatsukami not a one shot yeahhh but rather a very dangerous technique that can be countered by very high level ninja. If KA is as dangerous as many uchiha fanboys make it out to be then why was Mifune snapped out of it by telling him he was in genjutsu? I believe any great Sensory type Ninja would be able to detect this as Ao was able to detect it through the colour of chakra and realise they are under its affects...My point being is that it can be broken through Normal means if you know you are under genjutsu Mifune proved this.
Mifune under the influence of genjutsu
Mifune told he is being manipulated by KA
Mifune acting normally and giving out orders not under KA

Tsukuyomi aka the uchiha fanboys dream was stated by uchiha Itachi himself to be unbreakable while this is a biast manga quote talking about himself. There are some grounds for believing it as its only been used on Sasuke after Kakashi and he broke it the 3rd Time. The question is how does one break Tsukuyomi? The key is in the wording if we are to take this biast quote as evidence you must not selectively quote parts and add your own twist.

My illusion jutsu Tsukuyomi cannot be beaten is not referring to his own version but the jutsu Tsukuyomi. The wording is clear and this is not true as others such as Bee have broken Tsukuyomi and even danzo stated that it was weaker compared to Itachis but this proves that it can be broken(The official handbook stated that Sasuke has to have had Tsukuyomi as well).Another thing to point out is that Itachi had never fought a tailed beast user or a Rinngean user but regardless it was broken so the technique as a whole can be broken... however that doesn't mean they can break it quick enough to respond to a attack.

In conclusion for those who are skimming through

KA broken by Mifune by being told he was in genjutsu and seen through by Ao with Byakagun who saw the genjutsu

Tsukuyomi broken by Bee,Itachi through a bias stated his illusionary technique justu Tsukuyomi couldn't be broken but proven wrong

Thoughts? if you agree don't forget to link this for Uchiha fanboys xd

Dude why are you making lame threads. Just awhile back you wrote one about Itachi.

Why did you create this thread again?

Dude why are you making lame threads. Just awhile back you wrote one about Itachi.

to both i'll tell you why , Because One Time of pooping isn't enough for him to bother us :')

Thread-maker dude : i see you have a point in KA, but you are Totally mistaken in Tsukuyomi part : i'll tell you why :

by the link you gave us : Itachi said you can Resist the Tsuk. Illusion with your Sharingan but you can't break through it , only Sasuke could break through this.
And do i recall bee having a sharingan ?? i guess not :') which makes him Incapable of combatting Tsuk.

Ps: Itachi Never used Tsuk. on bee. ;)

The strength of genjutsu depends on the user.
Also, the thing about Tsukuyomi is that the genjutsu happens in such a short amount of time that it is almost impossible for someone to counter. Sharingan helps realize its effect and stop it faster, which is what I believe Itachi meant.
