I notice I post a lot less now that there are so many of the "Count To..." threads. I hate it when I click "New Posts" and I have to look through 4 pages of "Count To..." threads just to find one normal topic. Since all the counting threads are in the Forum Games section of the site, I had a thought. It would be nice to be able to toggle displaying of certain forums in the "New Posts" listing. Maybe a setting in the User CP or something. I think this would really boost forum member usage as members like myself who don't care about trying to get our post counts up could view only content driven threads.

Tsukoshi

yeah i find it kinda annoying when i just want to post in threads that have some thing meaning full when all i ever find is count too 1000 etc.

This sounds like a good idea.

us rpg players need to boost our posts o-o
Well, I don't want to turn this into an argument on member usage or rpg rules. But personally I think that if your boosting your post count through games like that, then you are just hurting yourself. The post count is supposed to represent your experience as well as your rank and if you spend your time boosting it, you aren't gaining any experience... but that's not what I'm asking for here, I just want a way so I don't have to wade through it anymore. I mean check out listing. There are 39 threads that contain the word "count" in the Forum Games section, most of them are active..

I also support this, and if people want they can choose to have ONLY counting threads :D lol.
But ya 1000 count to 1000 threads are annoying.
and I am going to 10th it.

Not really so much as closing the threads, it's more about making it so when clicking new posts you can decide which sections you can view when they pop up.

Yes the "Count to ....." threads can be annoying but look at it in this manner people. Why do you think there are so many of them? Thats because older members and new members aren't exactly getting along its divided people heck I have had pointed out to me that new people are taking rping into the Chatterbox because old members or more "elite" members aren't paying attention to what they are saying, completely ignoring them or just flat out don't want anything to do with them. So the only way for most members now to get their post count up is to go into the Forum Game area and make those threads or post in there because there they are not shunned or cast aside. Unlike in Konoha Town were there is a select group of people who will only talk with that group of people or RP with that group of people making it completely and utterly unfair to the new comers and making them not want to associate with the elder members. But don't get me started about all the poking and making fun of people in Konoha Town even if its made for rping and some of you I know will say it's just rp they shouldn't let it get to them where thats where your wrong and right they shouldn't let something that simple get to them but there is one thing your not looking at fully. They may be new rpers and not used to it so they may get offended by it until they get accustomed to it. Or they are just little kids reading far more into it than they should and then some random person comes in and ruins their fun and making them upset and leave the RP section of the forums and only go to the area's like the Chatterbox, Graphix area, Manga area, or the Bleach area and most of all the Forum Games where they make those threads to up their post count so they are able to go into the RP section and have fun and battle people like how most of us do or have.

So all in all guys chillax and welcome the new comers into the rp section and I can pretty much bet that there wont be as many "Count to ...." threads anymore but more battle threads, rp threads, manga threads and so on and so forth.

Oh and just do what I do lol don't look at "New Posts" Search for them look around the forum and you might find something that you like even if it hasn't been active for a day or two.

Amen to that because it's so damn true.

As usual, it takes a lot of getting used to the new people, as most of them, no wait, almost all of them are as cocky as ever. That's just plain annoying.

Other than that, total spammers. All they can ever say now is: "Lol", "Agreed", "True", "Rofl", sh*ts like that.

I can see why this is annoying and if there is a way to avoid seeing the new posts at some sections you don't want to participate in, i would want to do it too :p

but as Zanji highlighted there is a reason for the existence of all these threads and it is not to get your posts higher^^
There's a "fight game", a "rep game", a "lunch game" for example, and people are participating in them.
Wouldn't be easier for them to just post a number in a counting thread? But no, they want the "rp", they want to talk to other ppl, thing that is very very difficult to do anywhere else.
Because in Konoha Town they are getting ignored and in all other sections this is considered spamming^^

So yes, what you suggested is a nice idea and actually my response is not for you Tsukoshi, but for all others who said they agree and they don't like the counting threads.

I think it's better to exclude the Forum Games as default. If you click on 'New Posts' now you'll see the count threads are not included in the Search anymore.

Thanks for the suggestion.
