Arthas Menethil is a young, handsome man with white [before corruption, blond] hair. He usually wears the standard Paladin armor.
The Lich King
The Lich King is an adult with white hair. Basically, he is the same as Arthas, except that he seems to be a bit taller and bigger that ordinary humans, due to the large armor he wears. The Lich King's entire body is covered by his large and heavy armor, the Plate of the Damned.
The Lich King's face is covered by the Helm of Damnation.

Personality:
Arthas Menethil
Arthas was a man of action - brave, impulsive and straightforward. He was an inspiring leader, leading his men by example. In conversations with other characters, he appeared witty and easy-going, yet able to hold true to his decisions and make others accept them. Arthas also has a strong sense of loyalty to his men and his kingdom.
On the other hand, Arthas was vindictive, occasionally lost control, and never took well to losing. He always sought the approval of others (such as his father) and often felt underappreciated. He could not stand the thought of others betraying his trust, going as far as making Jaina promise never to deny him anything. His intentions were good, but the Lich King exploited those faults and desires as soon as he took up Frostmourne. Though he took up the blade in an effort to defend his people, this was all for naught, as he became the destroyer of that which he sought to protect.
After the death of his father, Arthas claims he no longer feels remorse, shame, or pity, which is explained by him losing his soul to Frostmourne. Here was born a new Arthas, a ruthless and cynical person with a grim sense of humor. As a death knight, Arthas was not above mocking his enemies and gloating over their defeats.
Despite this, somewhere deep inside him a portion of him still existed that fought against the darkness.
The Lich King:
While comprised of Arthas and Ner'zhul, the Lich King was ruthless, cynical and unimaginably cruel. He made no attempt to hide this, even from his own minions, openly regarding them as worthless cannon fodder to be sacrificed in his name. The Lich King also possessed an unending hatred of the living, especially of those who oppose him, and does not hesitate to inflict sadistic punishments upon them.

Background Info.
History:
'Prince' Arthas was born to Terenas Menethil and Lianne Menethil. He was born in the village of Konohagakure, however, he didn't spend his childhood days there. He was taken to a small village to the South west of Konahagakure. There, his parents had a small castle and they were 'ruling' the village peacefully.
Arthas is a Senju, however, due to the fact that his parents had changed their names to avoid getting involved in Senju business, Arthas also doesn't have 'Senju' in his name.
Arthas never truly intended to become a ninja. His father wanted him to rule after him. However, that never happened. The village and their castle were attacked by a rival kingdom. During this attack, his parents perished. The only survivor from the once proud family of Menethils, was Arthas.
Seeking to learn the arts of ninjas for revenge, he rejoined Konohagakure. He joined the academy and learned the basics. He graduated and became a genin at the age of 12. Then, he met the Great
Arthas' potential and took him on as his apprentice. Ryu took Arthas to Iwa every now and then, although Arthas never actually swore to protect Iwa or be allied with Iwa should there be a war. He was considered as a visitor.

Arthas respected his master a lot. He valued his teachings and was grateful for them. However, when asked why he was so determined to obtain more power, he always avoided answering by quickly trying to change the subject.
As the master and student spent more and more time together, Arthas's dark past was revealed more and more to Ryu. He, then, openly tried to talk about it with Arthas. Arthas hesitated at first, but, he knew that Ryu had found out, so it really didn't make much sense to him to hide it any longer. He told Ryu that he wanted revenge against the people who had murdered his father. Ryu was shocked by this, and he wanted to make him forget about the 'revenge' he was seeking by giving him some advice. This, however, was the only time Arthas did not listen to his words.
Once he was 20, he and Ryu undertook a very dangerous yet rewarding mission. It was a difficult mission, but Ryu was sure that he and Arthas could handle it just fine. The mission was to find a hidden treasure chest in the frozen wastelands of the north. This mission was probably the longest mission Arthas had ever taken. Finding the treasure chest, however, was the easy part. Once they found the chest in one of the many caves, Ryu said that they should get back to the village, however, Arthas did not agree. He said he felt something calling him deep within the same cave. The cave was glowing, and Ryu knew it would be something terrible. But, Arthas still went in... alone. Ryu stood and tried to defend himself against the yetis and other terrifying creatures. Arthas found something that would change his life forever. He found "The Plate of the damned," a very astonishing and large armor. Next to it, he also found the "Helm of damnation." There was also a Runeblade on the other side of the weird room. It's name... was "Frostmourne." Arthas, unaware of the consequences, donned the Armor and helmet, and then proceeded to take out the ancient blade from the pedestal. However... once he got close, he felt unimaginable pain. The last thing he saw, was a note, saying, "Whoever wears this armor shall gain a great advantage, but this armor... will be bound to the soul." Then, he fell unconscious.
Once he woke up, he saw himself in Konoha, still in the same armor. Ryu was waiting for him to awake and he had also brought Frostmourne with him. Ryu was mad at Arthas for recklessly wearing the armor, but Arthas said that he felt power within him. Enough power to be able to destroy the enemy of his father. Ryu was terrified at the monster Arthas had become. Arthas took the Runeblade, and as he was heading outside towards the that small, peaceful village. He was obviously not thinking straight.
On his way, he saw flames.. and smoke coming out of that village. He was shocked, and asked a running survivor for the situation. The peasant said that their ruler was killed. Feeling anger and relief at the same time, Arthas stood down. He didn't know his next move. All his life, he was plotting revenge against. Finally, he made up his mind. He wanted to show absolute Justice to every criminal in the world. He wanted to make sure there will be no one like him ever again. He went back to Konoha and told everyone his goal. People there resented him. They could not accept him as a villager of Konoha anymore, due to his armor and his desire for wars and killing. So, he was forced to leave. He went straight to Iwagakure. People, there, admired his dedication to his goal. He was happy and content with them, so he officially joined Iwa, and swore to protect it with his life.
Currently, he meets his old master often. He still considers him his mentor. And everyday, he asks him for forgiveness for the arrogant thing he did back in the cave.
