Thoughts? It seems the root of Dawkins anti religious stance is the theory of evolution, i don't agree with him, i.e evolution=no God, but what do you think?

such thread are banned for discussion.

Banned topics:

* Religion based threads and that means truly everything related directly to religion as it has been proven over and over again that people can't discuss this in a rational way without starting to flame or causing people to flame (and that means both people who do believe in the existence of a god/gods and those who do not)

I think evolution disproves the existance of god (with the church meaning).
Science says we all started as microorganisms.
Religion says there were 2 humans to begin with. (Adam and Eve)

Those two can't exist at the same time since one disproves the other.

Then again if you have your own God theory. Like 'God helped the microorganisms grow up' or 'God is some alien who threw us on this planet to see how we evolve' then God can exist at the same time as science.
But God(like the Church teaches him)+Evolution=Doesn't blend.

Can't watch video atm since my gf is asleep next to me but on the topic in general... The theory of evolution doesn't directly disprove the possiblity of a god(s) it shows how single cell organisms developed over billions of years to become complex multi-cell organims like animals.
It disproves the idea of creationism (especially young earth creation of the bible) but I wouldn't say it, in itself disproves god.

This won't end well, you've been here for over a year and you don't know that these are forbidden, watch out man flamers are on their way.

I personally believe in God and don't care if anyone calls me stupid, illogical, and please don't get into discussion with me or try to prove me wrong. I respect all of the others opinions cause we all have different views and Ideals, but on this matter I'd like everyone to keep their arguments and just give opinions.

God exists we are not here on this earth without a reason. Someone send us here so that we could be judged according to our deeds. i am a microbiologist and a geneticist so i know that evolution makes it more clear that someone has made something awesome and then refined it and that someone is none other than God!

Dawkins says any kind of intelligent creator is incompatible with the evolutionary phenomenon. Honestly, i could'nt find the interview in which he says that explicitly but it was stated that it excluded the possibility of any God.

Personally i don't think it disproves anything though, even that creation story of the Bible. Many religious people have said Genesis is to be taken as a parable, not literally, etc.

If god existed he wouldnt have created the world to be like this IMO so yes evolution cannot really be complied with god..But Gorkij wrote that for those who believe in god , he exists, and for those who dont believe in him, he doesnt:)
