Can anyone tell me where it DIRECTLY states that Hiruzen was the best? Where it says "Hiruzen was the best hokage of all time" All I see in the databook description and the manga are wordings that go as such:

"is called"

"described"

"respected as"

"was said to be"

Now what do they all have in common??? They are written as OPINIONS. I can say that Tiger Woods was the greatest golfer ever, and I wouldn't be alone. Thus he "was said to be", or was "described" as, or was "respected as", or "was called" the greatest golfer ever. Does that mean he actually was??? No! He might not be. There are many others who could be called the greatest ever, who ARE called the greatest ever. So none of these databook/manga quotes are definitive.

Oh. xD I really want to see their primes. One thing I notice is how it's hard to have a discussion on NB in a lot of threads. I at least want this subject to be one where we can have a discussion. :)

Yes
you are right Netsui-chan (I hope you dont mind me saying that) :p

Guys, i've realised the manga is wrong! The manga said Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage, but Clearly Hashirama is the strongest Hokage. I mean come on! Therefore, the manga is wrong!

Thank you for your honesty . If only there were more people like you, then you would know who not to discuss Naruto with.

Seems to be the case, databooks and manga are clearly wrong

and it also seems that lots of members on this forum have a personal relationship with kishi, since they know he changed his mind

why do you alway beat me to this type of treads .......

If a group of people look at 3 people fight, then they all come to a unanimous decision that the 2nd was the best of them, and start praising him for that

I'd much rather go off of their reasoning, than yours, who have never seen hiruzen's prime at all and simply disregard the hype they gave him

My point is that, what the characters say in the manga doesnt mean its what kishi says. This also doesnt mean I'm saying that what characters say is false. Just that a character's opinion cannot always mean its the author's opinion too. Madara's opinion was he should become the 1st hokage, while villagers felt hashi should become 1st hokage...this doesnt mean that kishi has a multiple personality, but that those opinions were of characters, not the author. If naruto says "I'm hungry" it doesnt mean kishi is hungry, but the character 'naruto' is hungry...thats a stupid example, but useful.

kishi literally said the exact same thing.. so yes ksihi said it..

Also,if he said anything in an interview or any "outside manga" source, then no doubt its true, but its not related to this thread. This thread specifically says about 'manga'.

All I'm saying is that in the end, it's all opinion. Thousands of people may believe one thing, but another thousand may believe another. We haven't been presented with any definitive information that proves beyond a doubt that Hiruzen is stronger. So you can't say that someone is wrong for believing that Hashirama is stronger. That is being presumptuous and biased. You say I haven't seen Hiruzen in his prime? Well you haven't seen Hashirama in his prime! I don't disregard the hype they gave him, I acknowledge that he was immensely powerful in his prime. But you seem to be diregarding Hashirama's hype! Either way, you go ahead and believe the opinions of the people who say that Hiruzen was stronger; you have the right to. That's your belief. But when other people believe those that say Hashirama is stronger, don't force your opinion on them because your's is not based on solid fact either.

Right here. Although I still think threads like these are like Minato vs Itachi, because we have not seen prime Hiruzen or everything from Hashirama. That's why these threads should really stop, because we may never see Prime Hiruzen, or everything from Hashirama.

We cannot say the manga is wrong, because that would mean Kishi is wrong. How could the writer be wrong about the manga he writes? We can't. >.>

Oooo thank you :) I forgot about this, and iruka clearly says that hiruzen is said to be the strongest, I find it hard to believe myself but kishi is the author so even if he didn't make it 'look' lie hiruzen is stronger then the 1st or 4rth even then that just means he must not of Shwn hiruzens full power, therefore we can only assume that back in his prime he was stronger then any of the other hokages....including the 1st.

Manga is not wrong, it was never about "of all times".

We also know that Minato was the strongest of his era as he was unmatched.

The manga is never wrong. Its kishimoto's universe and what he says IS FACT. Hiruzen, in his prime, was stronger than hashirama. When orochimaru used edo tensei, Hiruzen was old and his chakra was much weaker and he was faced with his TWO predacessors at the peak of thier youth and the were IMMORTAL. so how dare you say the manga is wrong... YOU sir... Are wrong

Alright everybody stfu it dose not say anywhere in the manga or databook that he is the strongest. The only thing it says is "he was called" that means by the people of the village (fodders) who thought hashi's powers was a fairy tail. Almost everyone from the 1st time is dead so when people here this story they don't believe a human could do this.

It was said that neji was the best genin and he can not be beat by who you may ask by a fodder (tenten). And fodders say he was the strongest and hashi was a fairy tail and you believe these fodders?

Yes, of course. We should all just ignore Kishimoto's facts, and simply say who's the strongest ourselves. (Obvious sarcasm is obvious U_U)
