You keep saying we don't know what prim hiruzen could do, be we know very well what prime hashi could do and he's on a god like level. Now if hiruzen in his prime was EVER on hashis level he would still be alive. It's simple man, Hashi over Hiru. That gd of shinobi title doesn't say he's better than Hashi. Kishi made a fckn mistake! So many different opinions about this. I really hope there's a flashback on Madara vs Hashi fight. It's the whole reason why I don't say who I think is greater than who. I know we saw Hiruzen vs Hashirama and Tobirama, but I want to see Hashi vs Madara before I say anything like Hiruzen > Hashirama or Hashirama > Hiruzen.

Nope, madara would've said that. And Hashi beat him in more than one occasion, when he didn't have the nine tailed fox. The fact that madara is dead has nothing to do with the"right" to talk. It's a fact that no one other than Hashi beat him, because know one else had the skill or the power to do so. The third couldn't even subdue the nine tailed fox when the 4thnwas still alive

Obviously wasn't fighting at full strength, and Oros edo wasn't on the same level as kabutos
Hashi only used 2 techs during that fight -_-. If U think that was full power then ur sad. And don't say " oh the power levels in prt 1 blah blah blah". Your telling me Hashi could go up against madaras monster strength and win but couldn't go up against Hiru. Come on dude, that whole battle was basically tai jutsu

Before I post what I'm going to say regarding this discussion, I'll just state that I don't believe Hiruzen was the strongest hokage, in fact I don't even put him over minato.

Now, to say he does not possess the skills to defeat Madara is not true at all...it's actually the manner in which he can defeat him. Reaper death seal has the potential to take madara with him should the battle become heated enough. I mean Madaras abilities seem limitless from what we've seen, and I don't consider using reaper death seal as a low blow. More like a last ditch effort to defeat an insanely powerful enemy.

In the case of Hiruzen vs hashirama I believe Hiruzen could do very well, his mass assortment of different Jutsu, and of course Enma makes him a very worthy opponent. Now no one knows of hashiramas true power, and I'm certainly not going to turn this into a 3rd vs 1st and 2nd + orochimaru debate. The fact is that hashirama is better equipped to deal with sharingan users from what we've seen.

It was stated in the manga that Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage, but it was also stated that Hashirama was the strongest shinobi. That leaves us to personal opinion, and in my opinion Hashirama would shit all over Hiruzen.

Plzzz, u gotta come with a better feat than Hiru fighting to WACK ass edo that barely used any techniques! And so what if Kishi said that. He also hasn't presented me eith any real proof to make me believe that Hiru over Hashi. Hiru hasn't even been mentioned during this entire war!
