Every main character is used for comic relief goku, ichigo, naruto e.t.c that doesn't mean they are dumb, stupid or an idiots and if you say naruto outsmarting his opponents is plot or luck then everybody that has outsmarted thier opponent in this manga is plot and luck because everything thing in this manga is driven by plot

Just imagine a genius like minato who never gets hit and figures everything out after seeing it once. Then there would be no need to explain the techniques and the situations cause if the main character understands the other characters wont have a chance to explain things and the series would be hella boring.

Thats one of the reasons minato was killed off
