Minato could have finished tobi?

As we all know minato bested tobi with a rasengan to the back, during this time he set a formula on tobi without him knowing, now what i want to know could he have, instead of setting the contract to release the kyubi, performed the reaper death seal? Because it immobilizes the target and minato pulled half of the kyubi's chakra out rather fast. Could he have sucked tobi dry faster than he could react ;D (puns) Can he react once the seal is set?

Your thoughts? I am not saying this could have happened or should have, just speculating. have fun let me know. xd

I am sure hiruzen being the god that he was could have dealt with his somehow ;D. Or kushina sacrificing herself to give them time to find a new host

Sure he could have captured and/or finished off Tobi, but at that point probably all of Konoha or at least most of it would be destroyed by the Kyuubi. Making the capture or killing of Tobi kinda pointless

I agree, I think hiruzen(according to his hype) could have dealt with kyubi, also kushina could have killed herself and they would have to find another host i am speculating if he could have done it

He didn't in the time it took to use the contract seal to take the kyubi back, Minato also took out half of the kyubi's chakra (much more vast than tobi's) in very little time at all even with the distance. I think he could have gotten a good fraction. Also does being intangible effect your soul once the demons hand is in?

I don't think Izanagi would have played a role because it appears that Pre-Uchiha Massacre Tobi only had one eye as confirmed

Well i think him dying would have made him lost control. I am not sure in that position he could have cut his head off.. I mean his arm swinging down would really reach his head there.

OT: yeah he should have just dealt with tobi there. 3rd hokage would have handled kyuubi with kushina's help. and to think how different the future would be. but anywho, i think he could have done it fast enough. tobi can't make his soul intangible...and he wouldn't see the attack coming so...yeah!
