Skrillex Diagnosed With Cancer
American electronic music producer Sonny John Moore, also known as Skrillex, has been diagnosed with ductal carcinoma and is planning to undergo treatment.
Sonny Moore is an electronic music producer who many consider responsible for bringing the dubstep genre to the mainstream music community, consequently establishing himself as the most popular Dubstep artist. Originating in the under London music scene, Dubstep is a form of dance music known for fast beats and a prominent bassline.
Moore has been diagnosed with stage T2N1M0 Mammary ductal carcinoma. His latest scans showed the tumor to be 4cm in diameter. Some lymph nodes had metastatic cells, and he is expected to undergo surgery this week.
It appears that Moore has had breast cancer for over a year, but even though the disease was diagnosed at an early stage, doctors state that excessive smoking and his unhealthy lifestyle have been heavily contributing to the factor of its development.
Millions of fans all over the world reacted with shock, prompting Moore to gave a statement to his fans.
"It's awesome to see my fans supporting me as I begin my fight against cancer. Yes, the rumors are true, I do have cancer, but I have strong hopes of getting through this. I will fight this so I can produce music for my awesome fans. Thanks for your support guys!", and added that he will be taking a break after his current tour as he prepares to undergo an aggressive treatment to beat the diseasewhich will be followed by extensive Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy sessions.
