[Discussion] Do you own any One Piece volumes?

I'm thinking of buying all the one piece volumes from 1 to the current one but I just want to know is it worth buying it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, buying those volumes at stores cost roughly $8 a piece and there are like what 60/61 volumes out already? So that comes around $488+ w/o tax.

Are they worth the price of $500+? My sister even asked whats the point of buying it when you can read it online and she does have a point...

I am aware you can get the books at a cheaper price from like amazon but I'm not much of a fan of buying stuff online. I just want to know if it's worth buying cause my friends were telling me it's best to buy it right now cause apparently the prices are going to go up in price? I'm not so sure if they're just trolling with me but yeah.

Also, love your sig. Watching that arc right now. Edit: Do they purposely draw big breasts and such to draw attention? Serious question because it's hard to watch it when they're flying around.

You're thinking of buying 66 Volumes!!! I bought Volume 1, 2, 3 and they cost £10, and it said on the back it would $16.99 in America (I could be wrong) but either way I would only buy the latest volume.

I do want to read it and have a collection of it... I'm not paying for it though my sis. owes me a lot of money LOL hence why I mentioned her in my first post.

Most of the One Piece fans/Naruto fans have the complete volumes
I just want to buy it cause I love One Piece and I can just read it when I'm bored... Yeah sure you can just read it online but I rather have the book/chapters in my hands.

It depends if you want to spend all that money, usually Viz media volumes cost $10 each. Lol i only have two naruto volumes.

It's a lot of money to spend on all those volumes, i usually just go to the library to get naruto and one piece volumes to read.

I would like to have them all but I have just been buying the dvd collections instead. I have most of the Naruto volumes though. Even if you don't like buying online I still would cause I'm sure you could save some cash.

1-14 and 30-56. Missed quite a few in the middle but I will pick them up eventually. I buy alot of stuff online because I live in a small town and it's hard to find stuff. Oh, I would just buy from the store then lol.

Do it if you have the money. I don't own any One Piece Volume but I spent about 600$ (including pre-orders) for Manga/Anime-related stuff the past 5 months. About 350$ of it were Mangas only, for example All HOTD Volumes including the Full Colored Volume 1 - 4 Omnibus etc... (Rest of the Money was only spent on PVC Statues and one Illustration book which comes out in August oh and I bought one DVD Set as well - Just to add it to the HOTD Collection. xd)

So I would say, go for it.
It's always nice to have stuff lined up on your shelf etc. ;D

Edit: And yeah, buy online. You'll get the older volumes a bit cheaper I guess and just imagine a huge package arriving at your door. ;D

I'm in the process of buying them, only have a few copies as of now.
Yes, I think it has been worth it, since it's always a special thing to be reading manga away from the computer, a completely different feeling where you get absorbed into it even better.
The translation is often also better, grammar and all, but one thing I find the volumes to lack is the explanatory side notes, explaining what certain words mean etc., and the rants of some scanlation groups are quite hilarious!

I'd say that it isn't about the price here, but about the experience. I find it more pleasant to be able to read manga volumes rather than being on a computer.
