What if the key to unlocking Rinnegan was mastery of izanagi and izanami in EMS? Two is a very prominent number in the series and seems to symbolize completion.

examples:
Elder and younger son
senju and uchiha
yin and yang

What your thought? (If someone thought of this already I didn't know)

I don't think izanagi or izanami is needed for the rinnegan.. mastery of those two would probably mean you'd have to use them.. and last time I checked madara's eyes lost light cause of the overuse of mangekyo sharingan's techniques

Yeah he would have to know about them. Maybe he just doesn't like to use them or doesn't feel the need.
