Itachi says you can't use genjustu on someone with the same eyes.
You must be registered for see images

Now might just be a bad translation or maybe I'm reading this wrong, but didn't Sasuke and Itachi have genjustu battle when they fought and there is this.

You must be registered for see images

I mean they cast genjustu on literally the same exact eyes.

What kind of shenanigans is this?

Itachi has MS , Sasuke has EMS = Technicaly speaking they are different eyes in their abilites.

But yes Sasuke has Itachis eyes.

But good observation + rep.

I think they meant that you can't cast a genjutsu on someone who's already in a genjutsu. Being that the user of the Izanagi casts a genjutsu on himself, he can't be put under another genjutsu by someone else. That's just my take on it anyhow.

He was saying in the latest chapter that two people using Izanagi on each other will never work BECAUSE they just keep resetting (until they're out of eyes, i suppose). The only way to end this and force people to accept whatever outcome is to use Izanami.

As far as Gentjutsu is concerned, uchiha of equal level can't really cast a lasting genjutsu on each other, because it is immediately recognized and cancelled.

Doesn't even have to be the same sharingan type either -> sasuke cancelled Itachi's genjutsu with a normal sharingan in the battle where itachi died. All based on skill level (and, ok, the fact that they're of the same blood or whatever) :)

This ^

I think this is the best interpretation of what Itachi was saying.

No sasuke had a 3 tomoe sharingan and Itachi had a MS in that fight so no they didnt have the same eyes. What itachi is saying that you cant cast genjutsu on someone if they have the same eye level eg. MS vs MS it justs cancels out.

i am sure its translation mistake or its a phrase... where same eyes means same techniques, same people knowing each other and the working of their techniques

Yeah, but sasuke cast a genjutsu on Danzou when they were fighting and Danzo was using Izanagi

i think it meant that one cant win using genjutsu...uchiha eye can counter eye genjustsu .... that is if the one under genjutsu want can break free of genjutsu.......

I think what he meant there was that Izanami would not put the other person into a loop in the way Kabuto is, i.e an actual genjutsu but rather would simply cancel the Izanagi. Because the other person being an Uchiha with the sharingan(i think that's all he meant by the same eyes) would'nt be trapped in an illusion, but rather his own attempt to use an illusion(Izanagi) would be cancelled by using Izanami.
