No one needs to check 30 submissions, If one submission seems fishy, let's say a total noob made it who lacks gfx knowledge and it looked too good to be his, and is winning, and very familiar, usually someone will check if it's a ripoff, if it was in on the bottom of the vote and sucks anyways, there will be no need to check it in the first place
Believe me, If a ripoff makes it to the top three, it will be caught by either the host or a competitor then reported to a mod

Personally I see it as a very crucial point to make sure no1 has attempted to cheat, whether they win or havent even had a vote, the fact that they cheated is in itself an offense, disrespectful to the other people & the host, & should be mostly assured that the competition is unbalanced

But thats all, in itself it is a good idea at most points & if there werent people who would be stupid enough to cheat then I would applaud the idea (mostly agreeing with Croc's post though) but seeing as I suck at rendering images I dont think I would even attempt to try it out

if that is your opinion on rendering you have no idea what your talking about that magic eraser crap leaves the edges so bad and ig the contrast is similar in any spots it will cut out half the image as well also how do you ecpect to magic arease sumthing with a bg .....think b4 you talk man seriously!

It would still be a shitty render and wouldn't get many votes, It's still the same as sotw as I can simply find an epic stock and corp it to make a sig out of it, perhaps even vertically flip it so it's less likely to be found on google images.
This wouldn't be the first forum to host such a contest, and honestly, I don't see how adding one other cyan spot would decrease the value of it, the best example is that OPB has it and it's GFX section is way better than NB's.

There are things you'll have to sacrifice, it's more important to assure that a cheater doesn't win than to assure that he doesn't get to take part.

Anybody that has 5 hours of their life, a lasso tool and patience can do that.

I've rendered before, nothing as complex but I've done it.

And this contest would be so biased, it wouldn't be about talent it would be about luck.

If you find a good stock you win.

+Normal people can't tell apart a decent render from a shit render.

There are many factors that determine how good a render is, and not any good looking stock would make a good and usable render, you need to pick a stock with a right pose, not cut off, it needs to be rendered skillfully, and look good all in the same time
I suggest that this contest would start as a beta without any prizes, and if it works out it would be made an official contest.

i took you 2 mins to click with the magic eraser? and it worked out becuse there is alot of contrast between the white and the dark green and no thin parts at all but that is why when you do render of the week you make them include the stock because then you can avoid that because why.....you cant magic eraser sumthing with a bg

im gonna go get you a pic and well see how easy rendering is

I did it with a magic eraser.
I could go over it with topaz filters that take away the whole blocks or rough edges.

There's a program called Maskpro that renders stuff for you.

So many tools to facilitate this process it's not even funny.

well thats awsome bro but most people dont use maskpro ive never even hear of it tbh and for most people rendering is not that easy once you get into the complicated stuff there is a render contest on opb and it runs just like a regular contest and is actually one of my fave contest cuz it provides great renders to use on sigs
