Maybe powerful seal tech users can seal their eye sight? That would explain why minato wasnt worried about gen. then again it coul be because of his speed and reflex.
What I dont understand is how kishi has trolled Oro significantly. Kabuto in a couple of month seal his eyes in anticipation of fighting an uchiha. But a similar genius like oro doesnt despite losing appaullingly to itachi previously.:flaw:

Every genjutsu in Naruto now has to be broken by spectacular means. Just think about it. To break Itachi's finger genjutsu, Naruto needed Sakura and Chiyo's help, to break Shee's light genjutsu Sasuke used Sharingan, to break clam genjutsu they had to kill the clam, now to break Tayuya's genjutsu Itachi needed Tsukuyomi, to break Sasuke's Sharingan genjutsu Deidara needed to 'specially train his eye' to break Tobi's genjutsu on Kurama, Minato needed a sealing technique. What's next? Also, if you don't have any spectacular means you lose. Example, Naruto lost to finger genjutsu when he tried the normal means, Oro lost to Itachi when he tried normal means. Now the normal means doesn't even occur to anybody, Kabuto chose to instead blind himself. What happened to the normal method of breaking genjutsu?

U can break itachi finger genjustu like how Naruto wanted to break it,only if u are focused which Naruto lacks ...The fact that itachi had to pull sasuke & other ppl out of naruto's body to use his emotions against him means that Naruto would have broken it.U_U..So u don't need 2 people to break out of itachi's finger genjustu,someone like kakshi would easily break itU_U
As for Tayuya,shikamaro already explained & showed that it can be broken through PAINU_U,so i don't know what itachi & sasuke were thinking
Deidara didn't train his eyes for sasuke,it's an insult to say that deidara trained his eyes against genjustu for sasuke,deidara is clearly a non genjustu user ..sasuke's genjustu can be broken much easier than itachi's finger genjustu ........But for the rest

Yes Twedros, Kakashi and Orochimaru weren't top tier shinobis.
And to correct you, the Sharingan grant you the ability to see through illusions, the Rinnegan itself isn't known for such a thing.

Yet he was paralysed by Jiraiyas Genjutsu. There are enough Ninjas who knew when they were caught in a Genjutsu, like Orochimaru and Naruto. But knowing to be in an illusion doesn't mean you can break it. Unlike the Rinnegan, the Sharingan is known for seeing through illusions and end them, or even to use the opponents illusions against themselves.

only a handful of ninjas can even use genjutsu and the purpose of it is to not be normal. its not a physical attack like taijutsu or ninjutsu, it attacks the mind. what "normal means" are you talking about?? genjutsu is a power to be feared and anyone who possesses it in this manga is clearly a high caliber ninja or atleast has the potential to be.

Genjutsu and a attack afterwards has never killed any top tier shinobi because most shinobi at top tier will have counters for it.If Genjutsu was as powerful as some mainly uchiha fanboys make out the uchiha wouldn't be rivals to the Senju because they can just genjutsu them and its over because they haven't got the sharringan.

You are rather thick or you have no idea what you speak off. Apart from the op genjutsu's like ka, tsukuyomi, izanami, simple genjutsu's can kill, but that isnt even the purpose of genjutsu. Its pains me whenever people say genjutsu doenst kill. The reason it doesnt kill is because that isnt the purpose of genjutsu. Genjutsu is to create an opening, deceive your opponent by controlling their senses. That is what genjutsu is about, its never been about killing you opponent, thats what allowed itachi to defeat oro and deidora in base. If he was to fight either one of them without genjutsu although he'd still win, it would be slightly harder. If you want to know the real purpose of genjutsu, go back and watch danzo vs sasuke or infact read what tobi says about sasuke's weak genjutsu;

Counters for Genjutsu=Dojutsu Mastery,Tailed Beast Host or disturbing your own chakra somehow.

Secondly there is no real thing as counter to genjutsu. Yagura and bee both fell victim to genjutsu. Bee fell victim to a regular sharingan genjutsu and this is what im trying to say. Its a tool that can depends on the user. Another example, itahi, kurenai and oro all have 5/5 for genjutsu and itachi shat on both in this wield with relative ease. Secondly doujutsu isnt a counter to genjutsu and tbh this fails a lot. Sure having a doujutsu helps you see that you in a genjutsu, but that doesnt mean you are immune. If you do not know that you are in one or have rubbish chakra control then you fall victim.

Its due to genjutsu albeit sound, that allowed jiraiya to defeat 3 paths. He tried ninjutsu and taijutsu based attacks and all proved futile, but it was genjutsu that got the better of the paths.

Secondly it seems people dont understand that apart from the super op genjutsu's, paralysis genjutsu and normal genjutsu are two different things. Normal genjutsu can be broken albeit a lot harder depending on the user. Paralysis genjutsu can also be broken BUT it takes longer to break because you have been paralysed.

Any way genjutsu depends on the skill of the user. Naruto was actually in the middle of breaking the finger genjutsu (as its been called) but itachi put more strain into it. Similarly oro was in the middle of breaking Magen: Kasegui no Jutsu but his hand was cut. Taking about this genjutsu i always facepalm when people say itachi got lucky to cut oro's hand off because they were near each other. That genjutsu is short range anyway therefore itachi used what was in his arsenal to good measure in that scenario when both were close in proximity;

Anyone skilled with genjustu can kill even the greatest of taijutsu and ninjutsu users just because it takes time realize that they are in one, and then it takes even more time to break out of it. It takes great chakra control to use and great intellect to utilise in the heat of battle

With the exception of Itachi due to sharingan, most other genjutsu users are not very proficent with either ninjutsu or taijutsu. That is why they usually rely on their genjutsu to win it for them.

You're overrating genjutsu:


1. Shikamaro broke Tayuya's genjutsu with his shadow jutsu
2. Naruto was inexperienced and even then Itachi praised him.
3. Orochimaro was shocked he was caught in a paralysis jutsu and he was breaking it when Itachi cleverly countered.
4. Orochimaro broke the same exact genjutsu against Sasuke, and he did it effortlessly
5.Itachi and Sasuke used the partner method to break Tayuya's genjutsu,so as long as you have access to someone's elses chakra you will be just fine.
