Falling In "love" with internet girls. (Is it true love, or just infatuation?)

Im not going to lie, I've "fallen in love" with several internet girls. But I have come to wonder, Is it possible that infatuation can manifest into actual love? Can you actually be heartbroken by the fact that you will probrably never even know or be with that person in real life? If you ask me I actually think this is possible. I think that infatuation can manifest into something deeper. What do you guys think?

I dunno, maybe thats why I asked you guys -__-. I am not in love with an internet girl, however, I just wanted everybody's opinions on the topic.

i think its possible .....it never happened to me but have some couples who were once internet buddies .....
but its very rare cuz most of the time people dont trust the person sitting on the other side of the screen .....

Yeah I was just thinking this, realizing how far away the girl is will only make you feel worse than what you already do.

Yeah trust is a HUGE issue with internet dating, flirting, etc. You never know who is who. I mean look at the whole "bluegirl" situation.

It's possible, though you would only hurt yourself if you two can't meet each other in the future, and well get in touch, face to face meetings/datings is much different from the internet

have you ever had a girlfriend in real life...if you have and this 'love' feels the same as that...you probably are..but if you haven't had a gf and you don't know what love feels like...you prob just fancy them, especially cos it's several girls....unless you're a natural born internet playa

It's all about location bud. I met my girl via MySpace when it was the hottest thing. I've been with her for 5 years now. It's ok but only if you two are willing to see eachother. If you aren't then consider her a pen-pal that has good girl advice lol

I remember when I just had my Xbox, I often referred to some people on my friendlist as "friends" in conversations with, let us say my mom. She used to be very confused because I called them that, yet I had never met any of them. I tried to explain that it is still possible to bond with someone that you don't actually "know", but it was in vain.

This is a very difficult topic the opinions differ quite a bit. I think it is good that one can anonymously share his thoughts with someone on the internet, and cannot judge each other on their looks. It almost sounds like blind dating... I'm not sure if I'd call it true love or not.

Friend of mine has been happily married for years and just had his second child with a woman he met on World of Warcraft.

Yeah dude, this chick lives a LONG way from where I do. I just think its unfair that things always end up like this. Wanting something you cant have, Im pretty used to it tbh.

So...you have no idea what Love is. That's the 1st thing I'll say.
Second, how old are you?
lastly, you do not simply fall in love. Love is something which happens over time with someone as you get to know each other and build a strong connection.

Friend of mine has been happily married for years and just had his second child with a woman he met on World of Warcraft.

My GF's brother met his GF on world of warcraft and they made a connection on it. But falling in love happened when they met and started spending time together.
