Amaterasu vs. Yata Mirror

This is the one of the typical questions brought up when talking about loopholes within Masashi Kishimoto's storyline of Naruto, but im going to ask it anyways. The whole "unstoppable force vs the immovable object argument" is back. So, which ultimate Mangekyou Sharingan ability wins? Amaterasu; being the...you know...inextinguishable fire it is, should be able to burn through anything right? Well, Itachi's Yata Mirror shield is said to be in-penetrable, the ultimate defense. So on to the big question: If..say...Sasuke used Amaterasu on Itachi's Yata Mirror, would it burn through it, as Amaterasu IS inextinguishable, or will the Yata Mirror simply block it, as it should to any attack as the impenetrable defense?

Amaterasu burns through all nature types. So I don't see what Yata's Mirror can do to stop it Maybe if there is a water tech on the same level of Amaterasu it could via elemental advantage.

Yes, this is true, but what i am thinking is that it is stated that the Yata mirror can mimic the properties of any element, thus nullifying the fire element in Amaterasu, but then again, water cannot put out Amaterasu, just a thought.

Well technically itachi has the ability to extinguish it, i suppose whether his own amaterasu or sasuke's for example, but lets answer your question. Im not sure how that will work and tbh there are still questions about both legendary weapons that needs to be answered.

Amaterasu took quiet a bit of time to get past the samurai armour and i suppose the shield is a much much better armour than the samurai's, due to this, no i do not believe amaterasu will burn through it. If anything it can used an elementary advantage (although amaterasu doesnt have a weakness to any nature type) to further slow down its capabilities so maybe a strong suiton jutsu will slow it down, no different to how i believe A's raiton armour helped slow down amaterasu's burning capabilities

If the water tech is on the same level as Amaterasu, then it will put it out because of element advantage. There just hasn't been any water techs so far capable of doing that.

Why Yata mirror mimic amaterasu? :shrug: It's spiritual legendery weapon. It has to do it and Repel that chakra based attack.

what i meant by "mimic any element" was that the yata mirror can mimic suiton, thus having an elemental advantage over amaterasu
