lol @ hiruzen having access to the eight gates and ftg, I believe he was knowledgeable about the majority of konoha's jutsu, there's a big difference in between knowing and actually being able to do all those jutsu, and Minato created rasengan so there is no way Hiruzen prime can use Rasengan or ftg, and at best he can open a few gates, although I highly doubt it

Hiruzen doesn't even invent techs as far as we know... or we dont know any of the ones he invented...

I think Kishi intended his prime. It would just further enrich the plot with more "heart-touching-parts" if naruto can finally say he surpassed the strongest Hokage ever, his dad.

It would be a fatal mistake for Minato to underestimate Hiruzen..

We saw already that Minato isn't that invincible against strong opponents by the likes of the 4th Raikage and Killer Bee. His FTG was formidable, but wasn't that deadly against experienced shinobis.

Hiruzen and his vast knowledge of jutsu, would level the battle fields. But I have feeling that he will need Enma staff to win against Minato.
