Minato Vs Hiruzen

This is a very tough choice indeed, because they are equals [Prime Hieuzen and Minato] in my list.

Minato has a slight edge over him thanks to s/t but Sarutobi has way too many jutsus under his sleeve.

Conclusion : God of All Shinobis = Yellows Flash of the Leaf

First thing,
Hiruzen knows all jutsus is false.you can say: he knows many jutsus or he knows maximum number of jutsus, but saying that he knows all jutsus including rasengan & ftg is just wrong.He might know the strengths & weaknesses of ftg & rasengan,but he doesn't know how to perform them (even tsunade said that only minato & jiraiya know rasengan)
Also,we havent seen hiruzen fight except against oruchimaru,which didn't show his(hiruzen) true potential.
About Minato,
he was easily stronger than old hiruzen, as many times this was said : I wish the 4th was here... (but as we don't know hiruzen (prime)'s potential, we can't determine the winner.
Also, during fight with Tobi, Minato was in total control & could've won if fight had extended...the way in which placed his mark on tobi & broke tobi's control of kyubi through contract seal (without even tobi knowing it) tells us how clever minato was.
About his encounter with A & KillerBee, he wanted to have a stalemate, otherwise he'd have easily killed killerBee on the spot.

Conclusion: Going by hype, prime Hiruzen is stronger, but going by feats, Minato is stronger as Minato's tobi/9 tails feat & encounter with A/B feat were much better than Hiruzen's oruchimaru feat.

From what we have seen, I would have to give to Minato for the simple fact that he just way to fast for him. I understand that Hiruzen was the god shinobi of his time (his time) Minato was still a child at that time. If they where both in there prime I still don't see how Hiruzen can keep up Minatos speed, remember, Minato is the fastest shinobi in the manga except for Naruto (that is still up for debate to some people). Like I said how does Hiruzen counter Minatos speed and sealing techs?

I might go with 3rd. "he knows all jutsu in konoha" and shit means he knows how FTG works. Sure that doesnt mean he can counter it, but he probably has less trouble putting up with it. He could counter the kunai with his Kunai cloning, etc... Then he still has 1000 techniques left while minato only has rasengan. + in prime he was said to be a master shadow clone user, etc...
Could totally go both ways but 3rd > 4th top difficulty imo

They have never stated to have been equal. You guys are just being too fair. They have both been seen as the greatest Hokage ever minus the 1st.

I feel like Minato wins. Every fight we HAVE seen him in, he's one-shotted almost everyone.

Minato was shown to be super analytical. Hiruzen was shown to be battle adept and fairly analytical. He never really deduced a complicated jutsu from Orochimaru, so we cannot assume that he can just because he is, "The Professor". A LOT of contradictions happen from Part I to Part II.

If we were to take Kishimoto's word on everything, Sasuke would be dead due to this...

Just sayin though, no body thus far has shown any practical usage of FTG, not saying it's impossible for the average bear, but Hiruzen surely has no access to it, and if it was childs play, then surely hiruzen could have invented the tech

Yes, during the war, the dudes that teleported Mei to the battlefield, they could use FTG even if they needed to be 3. Hiruzen might just be able to use it by himself even if surely not on Minato's lvl

Idk who is the best of those two. Cant say cause we dont know their extent of power. Those theories like " Hiruzen Prime is this and that and he can do this and that" or "Minato with his FTG and the Rasengan and blah blah" cant decide who would win in a fight between those 2. Hiruzen was the best of the 5 Kages. It doesnt say the best of the 5 Ho-Kages. He was the best of the 5 Kages of his era. And by the time Hiruzen fought Oro there wasnt a 5th Hokage so ppl tend to misunderstand this. Also many things have changed since Kishi first wrote about the characters. For example Hashirama's powers. On the first part Hashirama's was a unique rly powerful shinobi and now he is at a god-level based on what the other chars say when referring to him in the manga. Last but not least Kishimoto in an interview said that Minato is on par with Hashirama. Anyway since i cant say who would win, as the OP asked us, i would go with who would i like to win. And i 'd go with Minato cause his character is more mysterious than Hiruzen's, has some unique abilities and he is the father of the main character.

Prime? minato was never in his prime.. as jiraya said he had talent to become wextremely strong and top rated, but he died before that... according to tsunade... I don't get why you people are comparing the man who is not even in his prime, and didn't live up to his talent, to people like hashirama, ems madara, and prime hiruzen , just utter madness ,

I'm sorry, It was stated hiruzen was the Strongest hokage, and that he was the strongest of the 5 kages...

hashirama was stated to be the strongest ninja alive in his time

tobirama was one of the strongest in his era

Minato , nothing was said about him regarding his stats with other kage.... he did only hold his hokage status for some months..
he does have that flee on sight hype though lol
