There's no proof the sand actually got stronger or faster

The 4th thinking it was shukaku only proves gaara has mastery of the sand & that the biju indeed can manipulate sand aswell

The sand is gaaras mom understand this..

the 4th was already dead and never attempted to kill gaara himself so how could he compare pt.1&2 gaara? He cannot he compared gaara to the biju which gaaras skill > shukaku

Gaara simply improved his skills and intelligence not his sand

The kages was caught because they weren't trying except for muu because he is naturally conniving this doesn't prove the sand moves faster than the sand that broke lee's arm

Gaara is actually weaker than his father but because emotions were involved he didn't get beat (example sasori, haku, hanzo)

1: Gaara being mistaken for Shukaku, shows that Gaara's strength is now comparable to Shukaku's whereas before it was not. Stronger by definition.
2: His father says Gaara's sand hands have gotten stonger.
3: The fact that Gaara could lift his sand above his fathers gold,and his father was shocked by this, shows that he is able to do this now and could not before. So he is now strong enough to do so and wields his sand fast enough to do so.
4: Gaara's manipulation of Shukaku's techniques is a good indicator that being able to use the same techniques as the Biju makes him at least as strong. Which again is stronger than he was as a child.

Who do you think will win if they fight currently? Kimimaro is healthy and at his best(not on the verge of death like last time).

Honestly, i still think Kimimaro takes this, cuz i don't see how he could hurt Kimimaro, and i don't see a real difference in power between Gaara at that time and current Gaara(but maybe i'm wrong. So don't flame me! xd)

I'd go for a draw. The reason is that both would eventually tire out.

Last time they fought Gaara's Chakra was already at 5, but he tired out the same time Kimimaro did. Now he doesn't even have Shukaku anymore. Kimimaro back then was sick and at the brink of death. Somebody said his will was the only thing that made his body moving anymore. On top of that he was fending off hundreds of Naruto's Bunshin with Kyuubi Chakra leaking out and toyed with Lee before.

Now, considering that he's healthy and at full stamina, and Gaara's Chakra increased as well, things would most likely turn out the same. There's still no way for Gaara to defeat Kimimaro, since the thin bone-layer or Juin level two would always protect him from Sabaku Soso. With his final dance he can escape any mass of sand he's buried under - this might even help him to land a surprising hit on Gaara, considering they have no knowledge on each other. Kimimaro on the other hand has no move to defeat Gaara either, that's why the only conclusion would be a draw. I'm excluding Gaara's sealing technique, since he acquired those seals only for this war, where sealing is the only way to defeat the enemy. I don't consider them a part of his basic arsenal.

but id love to see Gaara get just a BIT stronger from the end of p1 and have an ideal matchup with healthy kimi, it was one of my fav fights of the series, two of the most dangerous kids around.

Current Gaara wins mid difficulty but a healthy Kimimaro is not something to frown about. Even though Gaara has vastly improved, a healthy Kimimaro would also be much stronger than sick Kimimaro.
