His body was not supposed to be able to move at all, yet he fought through it with sheer will power. That same psychological boost is what made Kimimaru not feel any pain when moving and getting crushed by Gaara.

So, when Kimimaru was sick he was at his strongest, not feeling any pain. If Kimi did not have the sickness he would have been screaming in pain when Gaara was trying to crush him.

I agree with this but not with the bold part. I actually can't actually say that Gaara is stronger than his father, but i can't also say he is weaker. Yes, his father lost cuz his emotions, but Gaara has proved that he could actually compete with him or even more. I actually see Gaara stronger than his father but not by much.

For those who think i'm a hater or something like that, just to know, i'm not a kimimaro fanboy. He is not even in my top10. I even prefer Gaara(even if i prefered Gaara when he was evil), but i only made this thread because i'm not really sure Gaara could beat Kimimaro. And i wanted to see opinions from others, but atm i've not seen an opinion that makes me believe Gaara wins. Kimimaros abilities were really impressiv in part1 when i've seen it, and i can tell you that there are many current character that i see losing to him. Gaara is not the only one i see defeated.

Also I have to say the 4th from what we've seen is intelligent in the end gold > sand & experience > youth (not all the time but in this fairly even match)

I'm just stating that "sick" Kimimaru did not have anything restricting his abilities or crippling him. He had no sign of being sick at all because he performed normally.

While Kimimaru was sick he had the benefit of not feeling pain in his body. This makes him more dangerous than he would be if he were healthy. His body moved under the control of his brain only, so attacks to his body that would usually incapacitate or cause him great pain were simply brushed off because his body was numb(so to speak).
