[Discussion] The war arc is not a disappointment

The war could have been better but it wasnt that bad. It showed powerful shinobi's of the past, muu, A's dad, Gaara's dad, Mizukage, and even more of minato. It showed development in gaara and more of oonoki.

But this is a war though, some pple from konoha should have died or felt pain, i cant understand why a nation enters war without loosing some important people, it also feels like promising people like lee, neji, choji and shikamaru didnt develop at all since the part one. :flaw:

I needed to see more of the byakugan and know why they were one of the strongest clans in konoha. People were taken out way too easily. (SEVEN SWORDS MEN,SASORI, HANZO, DEIDARA, NAGATO, GAARA'S DAD, and many others i cant remember) :flaw:

Sasori was the most annoying of all. He was taken out by an old hag and sakura because they had 4 antidotes? both of them could have died like 2 times each in that battle. Then sasori comes as an edo and he is talked into releasing himself? WTF WTH

Deidara was sealed before he could even throw a bomb? I didnt see any jutsu of the almighty hanzo of the salamander, who beat jiraya, tsunade and orochimaru. Even jiraya was surprised only one person could beat hanzo even though he knew people like itachi existed. I was so disappointed. U_U

Edo madara, BM naruto, EMS sasuke, kabuto (dragon sage) and itachi (koto amatsukami and izanami) spiced up the war but it still could have been better.

I needed to see madara's EMS techniques that made all the five kage's enter to battle him, since they didnt know he had hashirama's powers, that means they knew that not even three of the kages could stop only EMS madara.

Well said: rep++. I've mostly enjoyed the war, excepting a couple chapters here and there, the bit with the Kin-Gin bros being probably the biggest disappointment -- not sure what the point of their introduction was.

I just hope you're right about the animators incorporating these un-shown battles as filler material, but I won't hold my breath -- at the rate the anime is progressing, it'll likely be 3-4 years before we see (if we see) Kakashi's fight.

The anime goes faster then the manga well it would if there wasn't so much damn fillers but it's true they are needed to allow the manga to progress. But I don't think it will take 3-4 years that's just far to long one episode is about 2-3 manga chapters so hopefully it will not take this long.

War arc is pretty sick. Probably my 2nd fav arc in the series. The first being chunin exams and 3rd being sasuke retrieval.

Yh the war arc is one of my favourite arc's as well can't wait till it's animated which we will see shortly xd

It's true no one important has died which is part of the feeling your meant to get with a war so emotion is something this war is lacking. Character's like lee, neji, choji and shikamaru character development stopped after the sasuke retrieval arc U_U it's a real shame.

Most people in the manga got trolled and there were some battles we didn't even see.

And it's true there was much that wasn't shown but I'm hoping the anime will show this if not we were truly trolled U_U

I think you are all too quick to judge. We don't know where the story is leading us, or where a seemingly minor character will be shown again. The sealing pots with the Gin-Kin brothers are both with Tobi. There is a reason for that. They'll show up again, possibly confronting Naruto.
Ditto for the rest of the war. I doubt the premonition about "carnage coming to the Shinobi alliance" a few chapters back, was just for show.

Until this arc is completed, it's simply too early to tell.

I love this arc, I don't follow what other peoples opinions are. I feel as though alot of people are just rolling with the haters of this arc. Kishi has covered a shit ton of fights in this arc. Yes I would have liked to see more action from Lee, Kiba, and Neji, but its not the end of the world and it doesn't make this arc bad to me at all, so much happened in it how could I.

I was thinking about this today, I also wonder how they will portray all the fights that happen at the same time. Are we going to get one fight an episode or isit going to jump between 2 or 3. Things like that also determine the feel we get from the war its so important they get it right.

As much as I want to see the full fight between Kakashi and company vs. The Seven Swordsman of the Mist...I don't think they will even show that in the Anime. Let me explain why.

That battle is basically going to start very soon in the Anime, the Anime right now is at Chapter 516-517, or it will be after this week's flashback episode at least. The Seven Swordsman battle starts at Chapter 522-523. So basically the Anime will be showing that battle very soon. BUT, the Anime obviously can't show the entire battle right now, because Kakashi is still finishing the battle when Naruto first starts fighting Tobi. They can't show Kakashi finish the battle right now, because then it would basically be implying that he would be sitting around for a long time waiting for Naruto to fight Tobi, and then have Kakashi go and save Naruto.

So they can't show Kakashi kill all the Seven Swordsman in the next few Anime episodes, because that would be weird. The only thing they can do is basically follow exactly what happened in the Manga, which is show Kakashi beating Zabuza and Haku, and then cut away from that battle and continue on to other battles. Obviously then we wouldn't see Kakashi doing anything else in the fight just like the Manga, which sucks. The only way they can make it work is to, after Naruto starts battling Tobi, cut back to Kakashi fighting the Seven Swordsman, and then have him finish them off, then have Inoichi telling Kakashi to go back Naruto up. Then we see Kakashi run off and it would cut back to the Naruto fight. Obviously I would love to see this happen, but if you think about it, it would be kind of weird to do so. The Anime would have to cut away from the Naruto vs. Tobi fight, mid battle, and go back to the Kakashi fight. That would break the flow of the Naruto vs. Tobi fight, which in my opinion is more important and bigger than Kakashi battling the Seven Swordsman. Plus there really isn't a time during Naruto's fight where they COULD cut away and show Kakashi again, without making it look badly done.

I mean I guess they could do that in the VERY beginning of the fight, maybe before the former Jinchuuriki even attack Naruto. Maybe they could have it so Naruto headbutts Tobi, then Tobi says his line of "Now come now Naruto, I expected more from the Nine-Tails power..." and then show the Jinchuuriki move towards Naruto and Bee, then cut away to Kakashi. Actually it would probably work out better if they show the fight up until Tobi and Naruto have the convo about how Tobi is no one and so on. Then cut away right when all the Jinchuuriki show their tails. That would work out kind of well I think actually.

Neji, Lee, Sai, all the rookies had so much potential in this arc but didnt happen. Then the Edos, we could have seen some interesting jutsus of characters with poor development, a example: Hanzo but guess what, didnt happen!, again kishi lets opportunities pass and go far away.

The thing is it isn't over. Kishimoto can still pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I guess I was just butthurt cause Naruto killed a whole bunch of cool characters off panel (like cough Kimimaro cough), and Kakashi killed the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist off panel.

So far here are the events that I thought were the high points of the arc.

- Edo Madara Uchiha. Nough said.
- Hanzo vs. Mifune
- The Edo Kages were SO cool! Muu is still out and about.
- Gaara and Naruto teaming up.
- Itachi and Sasuke teaming up.

Anywho, so far I will give this war a 6.8 out of 10.

If they DON'T stretch out some out the battles and show longer fights, then they will have to make stupid fillers that have nothing to do with canon, and it would just make the war look stupid. The smarter way to let the Manga gain some distance would be to make the actual fights that happened in the Manga stretch out so it takes up some time so the Manga can get farther ahead. I guess we will see, the Kankurou/Ambush squad is about to fight with Sasori/Deidara and co. The Anime can easily show more depth to this fight and stretch it out, which I hope they will. Not only will the fights be more awesome, we won't have to watch boring fillers that have nothing to do with canon in the long run.

I guess we will see what happens next Thursday when the flashback episodes end. I can't wait myself, it should be awesome...hopefully.

Here I agree on naruto coming and saving everyone was soo lame I think he only should of helped out with the kages with gaara and then madara abit. This really could of been a time to shine for Neji, Lee and the others but character development was a real fail in this war. But as I showed at the bottom of my original post kabuto has revived much more people than he did in the manga so hopefully konoha 11 and others will battle them. I think all those boring fillers of when naruto was travelling on the ship the animators were focusing on the war because just after a few episode we have more fillers or special 10th anniversary episodes as it's called, which gives them more time Just made that bit big because they are some important points.

My reply to this is the same as the reply above but to the kakashi thing once again I hope this will be shown in the anime and I don't think kakashi finished them all of by himself he must of had support.

The was arc is a dissapointment because it's rushed. It has amazing great moments, but it just so rushed. I think it's the worst arc so far because as a fan of supporting characters, I want more of them. I don't want to skip to the main three battles on the what, 2nd day of war?

The best fights were Gaara vs Past Kages and Darui vs Gold/Silver brothers, aswell as Madara vs Kages. Even still, I still wish they were longer. Sasori's fight was a joke. Awesome ending, but short. Same for Sai's brother. Kakashi's rampage and his fight was bullshit. They all died offscreen and I hated how Naruto arrived and owned everyone. He should've just stayed away, but no, Kishi shoved him down our throats trolling Kimimaro, Chiyo who did NOTHING in the war, aswell as new characters who were gone in a flash.



However, I think the anime will fix it 10000000%, or atleast I hope to God. I agree with you. They made Konan vs Tobi better at the end. I loved it. The anime fixed alot of things. The made the Chunin Exam arc better by showing all fights. It was the best arc ever.
