Izanagi and Izanami, A Clan saver?

Itachi had his MS on because he was using sassano. doesnt mean he needs it to use izanami.

I think that you completely misunderstood what the thread creator asked.

He asked why other clan members didn't use Izanami when Itachi slaughtered them all, nothing about Itachi using Izanami.

Danzo made it obvious that Izanagi can be perform even with a 3 tomoe Sharingan. Itachi used his MS to activate Izanami, but it's prerequisite.

Thus, my inquisitiveness sinks in.... I want everyone's option on this matter:

During Uchiha massacre, why did any of the Uchiha used the Izanagi or Izanami to change their fate? It's forbidden, but the elders and top ranking Uchihas for sure knew about this technique.

because for izanagi you need hashirama dna and for izanami you need MS and not all members of the uchiha clan are OP .... you are overrating the uchiha clan.....

It has been noted also that in battle you always take down your most worthy adversaries first. Anyone who knew how to do Izanagi/Izanami would probably be killed first by itachi and tobi. Everyone else was sitting ducks, mostly in their sleep.

Those could have all been from Itachi. All the people we saw in the streets were shopkeepers and non-ninjas. I remember because I specifically thought to myself, "well that isn't very impressive killing restaurant owners".

Not really.. they could be retirees who settled down as Shop keepers and business men.

Considering the Uchiha Clan had a 100 population, just about 1% were pure civilians.. the rest would be hardcore shinobis who served as Sandaime's Police and Army.

Without Tsukuyomi.. it's impossible to carry our the genocide overnight.

Senju's DNA is just a side dish, I have also read the reports about the Izanagi. It can enhance the usage of the technique, but record shows that the most important requirements are: (1) You have to be an Uchiha, (2) You have 3 Tomoe Sharingan.

Just pointing out that the key player in using the Izanagi is the Sharingan. An Uchiha will loss his sight after using it, that's the significance.

I better loss my Senju DNA rather than my eyes.. not a fair trade really.

Perhaps.. but Itachi killed his parents last, meaning it wasn't a summary and systematic execution. But just random.

Sitting ducks or Sleeping? in simple shinobi term... TSUKUYOMI!

I'm hoping that Kishimoto will revisit the Uchiha massacre and answer some of these questions. Tobi has that nice collection of Sharingan and I've always wondered how he was able to advance that many eyes. Perhaps each Uchiha clan member was forced to watch their family members perish before their eyes to activate their Sharingan then it was quickly harvested by Tobi and Danzo.

truth is we dont know what izanami does really and most likely just like iznagai it appears u need hasihrama's dna to make it work. Thats just based from all the ppl we have seen so far.

Izanagi and Izanami is indeed a clan saver. As per Itachi, these techniques will be used if the battle demands the Uchiha as the victor.

I therefore conclude that during the Uchiha Massacre in the hands of Itachi, no one in the entire Uchiha clan knew how to use the Izanagi and Izanami. Strange.. :shrug:

seems to me kishi has depicted the uchiha clan not that good during itachis era. They seem pretty weak to me. Hygga clan at the time were more impressive from the flash backs we saw of them.

As for the techs i doubt they knew about them.

Since when did the Uchiha lost their warrior spirit? Yes! maybe during the time when they all got feed up with War Freak Madara and decided to turn their backs on him. But really, every Clan has its elders who keeps and safe guards the Clan's secrets. Itachi's father could be one of those few who knew about Izanagi and Izanami.

Uchiha Clan leaders knew that it's forbidden, but when the situation arises to call forth this formidable techniques, they for sure knew how to use it. Even Danzo knew about Izanagi. The same logic of having a gun; it's better to have a gun and not use it, than need a gun and don't have it.

In the course of reading the Chapter 587, there was a point in time where I thought Sasuke would bring out the topic of the Uchiha Massacre. I mean why didn't Itachi used Izanami and Izanagi to Konoha elders to change the destiny of their clan. If you believe the contrary, it's like saying that only Itachi has brains.

I believe the reason why they didn't use it, was that they were incapable of using it.

For most part, the Uchina have been restricted to village guarding duty and have been prevented from engaging in active missions. Hence they likely never learnt the ability or never become truely tested in battle. Both factors meant that against a real, battle hardened Uchina, they would be quite litrally defenceless. We saw Itachi defeat three of them easily with his bare hands, so with such lacking ninja as the protector of their clan, they really did stand no chance.

Though I believe once you have the understanding on how to activate it, pretty much anyone can use it. Makes me wonder whether Kakashi will use it at some point.
