true but Sasuke would be nowhere near Nagato's level with the Rinnegan since Nagato had the Rinnegan for almost his whole life, while Sasuke would only have it for a little while with no prior knowledge to it

True as well, but Sasuke is a genius and you've seen how quickly he's mastered the Mangekyou, Madara also didn't have much time to master the rinnegan but he can bring down freakin meteors, it also really depends on when Naruto and Sasuke do end up fighting, cause I can tell you this, Naruto is probably going to be near death by the end of this war and Sasuke will also end up being exhausted.

maybe the common references in the manga that this is the "Last chapter" and we're reaching the "climax" of the war arc?

That's prevalent in all mangas. Just because one arc ends doesn't mean that the entire manga would end.

i guess i still don't think he will get it. besides what good will it do him? will he manage to master it after such a short time? we're almost at the end of the manga i don't think the rinnegan techniques are just something you automatically know after obtaining it. plus sasuke has never even heard of the rinnegan up to this point

Even i dn't want sauske to awaken the rinnegan 'cause it won't suit him nd like you said he will NOT be able to master teh techniques. I agree with you. Nagato has used the rinnegan much better than anyone after rikudou sennin and it will remain that way.

Yes but history repeats itself in Naruto you see the uchiha clan ancestor battled with the senju clan ancestor. then it was madara and hashirama, now it will be Sasuke and Naruto the last of the uchiha's sasuke he could very well awaken his eyes or rinnegan idk tho.

Possibily because his eyes were a component of the rinnegan nd so they were bound to mutate into two new dojustu forming the sharingan nd byakugan. Its also possible that sasuek may not even awaken the rinnegan or any other new dojutsu that hasn't been mentioned.

Yes madara Awaken the Rinnegan and kabuto said the sharingan evolves into the rinnegan whether sasuke will get that or the uchiha clan ancestor eyes idk, but I do know mostly all of sasuke power UPS have been with his eyes so common sense would tell you Sharingan < Mangekyo Sharingan < Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan < whats next ???
