I actually found out how the whole, Hologram thing happened. It was just the projector beaming onto the glass/reflection and putting it on stage. You can either make the person animated or something like that or, have a live person.

ah that disappoints me, i thought it was like a free floating thing projected from below, not onto a pane of glass. i wanna know how they got him to do the whole whats up coachella thing too, like if they had to take video from a coachella concert he did when he was alive, or if they can just make computers and voice software do whatever they want now.

I have a bad feeling white people are going to do this for like Elvis presley johnny cash and people now.. the whole beatles...etc

i like it being dead rappers

Yeah, I was mad disappointed when I knew the truth. But I had a feeling we weren't in the hologram timeframe of technology yet. Its funny cause Coachella didn't really get big 'til 99 and he died in 96 so that makes me wonder how they made him say that. 20 kumi says they're gonna announce a MJ Hologram Concert

Anyways, in my opinion, Hoodie Allen is greater if not equal to Mac Miller. Hoodie doesn't rap about drugs, beer, or ***.

I listened to his new EP (doesn't say it's an EP, but it's only 8 songs, so go figure) and he is a pretty good rapper. I was somewhat surprised actually.

MF DOOM, that's really all I've got are there really such things as "good rappers still in the game"? The last show I went to was Snoop Dogg over the summer and that was bombtastic of course.

That's because he basically does "improv rap" (not freestyle, which you can't go back and make better). He makes his lyrics up off the top as he's listening to a beat. If he took more time to put more heart and meaning in his songs, he'd be one of the all time best, because he really does have some clever rhymes.

I dunno if you have heard of Plan B, a English rapper. Have a listen to Suzanne, Cast a Light and Charmaine. If you like him, his Pain It Blacker mixtape is amazing in my opinion. British rap is picking up a bit now. Although, my favorite rapper is still Eminem, his older stuff was awesome and i'll probably still listen to it when i'm old geezer.

Im not considering mainstream success or album sales, as those are superficial as hell, and in no way representative of skill.
(i.e lil waynes rap career)

Glad someone else thinks this.

Jay-Z has fallen off. Watch the Throne was massively overrated IMO and he comes out with a song every 3 years because he has more important shit to worry about.

Disagree with this part though. WTT was a great album.

Also, Slaughterhouse really isn't anything special. Budden is nice but everyone else is average.

Forgot J Cole

I lol'd when you said you weren't taking mainstream success or album sales into the equation then bring up that Eminem has a $600m deal and all of The Game's album's have gone Platinum..

Aside from that, I can agree with you.

improv is freestlye especially by the way you describe it.....

well at least back in the day freestyle used to be when people rapped and spit from the top of the dome but nowadays dudes are spitting memorized lines and rapping while reading their blackberries..

but anyways i say Lil Wayne cuz Wayne has practically done it all. rapped, did pop, rock and roll, he started a group and signed on many talented people like Drake n Nicki. he is one of the hardest workers just based on how many songs, albums and mixtapes he has put out, plus all of the other artists he has worked with..

who hasnt worked with Wayne?

Iiiii don't know about that. Royce is good (and I'm not just saying that cause he's Em's black twin:D), Joell is a bit above average, and Crooked I is sicker than hell, man. Can't believe you called him average. But yeah, Joe's definitely the macho man of the group:)

Well tbh I've never listened to anything from Crooked I and Joell except their Slaughterhouse material lol. Royce has just never impressed me. I have pretty much everything Budden has released. Mood Muziks are epic.

Heard that, man. They're all pretty good lyricists though, be honest:) If you don't like Royce now, listen to Welcome 2 Hell on the Bad Meets Evil EP. Definitely holds his own against Em on that track.

Royce is better than Em on a few tracks on BME imo but Em wasn't at his best on that album.
