I would have to agree. He really doesn't have any real abilities or talents and he has only been shown to have three techniques: Shadow Clones, Transformation, and Rasengan. He is constantly compared to Naruto, but Naruto is more resourceful and has a much larger chakra reserve. There is no way that he could employ the same tactics (ie. Multi Shadow Clones and spamming Rasengan) in battle.

The Sarutobis in general seem to be overrated. I'm sure there is a reason for their prestige and reputation within the series, since the two adult members of the clan were members of very elite groups (Hiruzen was a Hokage and Asuma was a member of the 12 Guardians). It just seems to me that we have seen some spectacular abilities from characters with very little experience and skill by comparison, and we have seen fairly common techniques from them.

Albeit that the Third Hokage was pretty old by the time that he fought Orochimaru, but when compared to the most of the shinobi involved in the war, he really doesn't seem to be in the same league. The same can be said of Asuma, who appears to only have one offensive technique other than applying chakra to his special knives. Again, there is probably more than what Kishi has revealed thus far, the Sarutobis are weak.

And last i check Konahamaru had 5 justu's while sakura has :| wait does she have any justu at all

ino who cares
tenten wasnt even in the village
choji fought the deva path along with his dad and kakashi
shino and his clan fought konan

Stopping Tailed Beasts should be the minimum requirement for Hokage. Every time Kishi shows a Kage their always faced against one.xd

I don't count the combination of techniques that he knows (Sexy Jutsu and Harem Jutsu) as their own techniques since they are just variations of the original (transforming into a naked woman and using clones to transform into a group of naked women). Other than the three that I originally listed and variations of those three, I don't think that Konohamaru has used any other abilities in the manga.

As for the Third Hokage, there is a reason that Orochimaru is laughing. I know that he was known as The Professor. However, if he knew every technique in Konoha and could do them effectively, why didn't he during his battle with Orochimaru? Any of the Nara clan's shadow techniques would have been effective against Orochimaru; Naruto used the Rasengan numerous times in the war to take out Edos - the Third could have used them on the First and Second Hokages; we know that Orochimaru is susceptible to genjutsu; releasing the Eight Gates would have probably been enough to beat Orochimaru (Tsunade almost beat him with taijutsu); any form of taijutsu for that matter; Shizune's Poison Fog would have been good to create some distance; etc. My point is that even though they are known for their skills and knowledge of techniques, both Hiruzen and Asuma showed very little of their supposed potential that is constantly mentioned throughout the series.

Thanks for the reply, but I think you missed the point of my comment. Though your response further supports my initial claim that the Sarutobis in general, though they are constantly said to be powerful, geniuses, etc., have not demonstrated very much skill at all. I wasn't saying that the Third would have won with any of the techniques that I listed, but that the techniques that he used during his battle with Orochimaru seem weak compared to many of the abilities that other shinobi have used in the series (like Tsunade's strength and FTG). As a matter of fact, any space-time jutsu or taijutsu would have probably saved his life.

Am I missing something? I means haven't been on the base in a few days but I don't see that many people praising konohamaru. But from what we've seen of him so far in comparison to naruto at that age I'd say he's about equal. Also keep in mind konohamaru is narutos Student and a big theme of naruto is that the next generation will out due the last. So I think it's fairly safe to assume konohamaru will grow up to be pretty bad a**
