Naruto looked at Pa's face, his eyes wide opened, he listened to what the Toad was saying with all of his attention. Curiosity was burning inside of him, his heart was beating fast.
Naruto: *surprised, quietly* Myobokuzan...
Fukasaku: Indeed.
Naruto: *putting the sword on the table and looking at it* This sword... belonged to a Toad?
Fukasaku: It did, many years ago. That katana was held by him, Myobokuzan himself.
Naruto: T-The greatest Toad to ever live? Even stronger than Gamabunta?
Fukasaku: Yes, much stronger. He is seen as a God among us. Though lately the Toads began believing that he was just a myth, as well as that sword.
Naruto: *amazed* What is he...? This Myobokuzan?
Fukasaku: *looking straight into Naruto's eyes* Many years ago, before the shinobi world was founded, the Bijuu, the Tailed-Demons, appeared and started roaming the land spreading destruction everywhere they passed. I'm sure you're quite familiar with them. At that time, the Bijuu weren't contained inside human vessels as yourself, they were free to kill and destroy everything that came across their path.
Naruto couldn't say a single word or ask a single question. He just remained silent, rarely blinking his eyes, trying not.
Fukasaku: These Demons were getting stronger every day that passed. The destruction and the killings were getting out of hand, in the human and animal world. At that time, the animals were separated between species or clans as we call it and killed each other for territory and ressources. But, being confronted with the rise of the Bijuu, the animal realm had no choice to unite and try to fight back. That is how the "Doubutsu Alliance" appeared (note: doubutsu = animals).
Naruto: *confused* Doubutsu Alliance...?
Fukasaku: Yes. It was an alliance of twelve extremely powerful animals, brought together to fight the Bijuu. Each element of the group was a different animal, there was a snake, a monkey, a salamander, a slug among others. Of course there was the toad representative. Myobokuzan. "Green-Eyed Myobokuzan", that's what they called him.
Naruto: *amazed* They could fight Bijuus!?
Fukasaku: Indeed, they were very powerful. Myobokuzan was a young toad then, but already extremely powerful. He fought with a golden katana, the one right in front of me *looks at katana*. It's said that it has powers beyond one's imagination, when perfectly mastered.
Naruto: How did he die?
Fukasaku: He was killed by the Bijuu themselves, at a final battle, a battle that made the ground shake and crack as the legend says. That was how these mountains around us appeared. Myobokuzan Mountain is the mountain where his body lied at the end of the fight. However, before his last breath, he sealed his soul inside his katana, hoping to fight the Bijuu again even from beyond his grave. He never gave up.
Naruto looked at the sword. It reflected the light of the candles in the living-room. He could see it. The will to never give up that burned inside the blade.
Naruto: *holding the sword up to his eyes* He sealed himself... in this sword...
What is yet to be revealed about Myobokuzan? When will the mysterious Kaeruzan appear?
