One does not simply beat kyuubi in an all out brawl... only a few characters in the manga can do that.. Nagato (Maybe, he got his ass handed to him by half a kyuubi last time, but he was also half power)

Naww according to kabuto he was considered the strongest kage of his time
by many , so that includes - Yagura, oonoki, third or fourth raikage, idk , fourth kazekage (oro killed)


and according to databooks and iruka, he was famous for being the strongest hokage konoha has ever had...

he also had nicknames- god of shinobi, Professor (Purportedly knowning all existing non kkg konoha jutsu at one time in the past)

But yea.. some of the hokage were given the title - "strongest of their time"
Hiruzen's hype went a bit further - strongest hokage and strongest of his time

I guess that were this unending debate or discussion comes in <LOL>, but can't that only be seen by one perspective; meaning Iruka. I know that was Kishi's word, but you have to take en-count the timeline of the Manga when stated before the other Hokage were introduce. Iruka hasn't seen the talent of the other Hokage to compare. Also, the long reigning and position, title of "Hokage," was during Iruka's age which refers back to:

"Also, each Hokage was somewhat named "the Strongest or Unsurpassed" in their current period of tittle of Hokage so saying "that one is stronger than the other" is invalid."

I know you referring back to the datebook were to clarify, but the datebook itself needs updates to current Manga.

naw it wasn't only iruka's perspective, Iruka said he was called the strongest of all hokages .. and kishi put in his databook that he was famous for being the strongest hokage

Saying Hiruzen is the most powerful Hokage isn't overrating him when the author himself stated that repeatedly over a decade. It's just that people are bandwagoning Hashirama simply because his prowess was expanded upon.

dan disagrees with this. dan died when he was 27 years old. tsunade was the same age as him. hiruzen is 16 years older than tsunade. at 43 years old hiruzen is still in his prime. dan says that only hashirama can defeat madara. dan witnessed prime hiruzen. why isnt dan saying hiruzen can beat him since he is the supposed "strongest kage".

lets hypothetically say gai is the only person that can defeat kisame...

does not mean kakashi can't defeat gai? NO NO , there are many things to take into consideration in a fight... hashirama was just the person to fight madara, they were destined to fight ,they clashed many times, had knowledge of each others jutsu, etc etc... hiruzen has never fought madara, possibly has never seriously fought an uchiha... that doesn't mean he can't beat his MASTER who taught him....hiruzen would know all hashirama's techniques... all that he was capable of..

i didnt ask you to name all his jutsu. the man supposedly has 1000 genjutsus, then name one of them. name me one jutsu hiruzen has shown that can counter flower tree world. hiruzen wont use his 2000+ jutsu just like kakashi wont use his 1000+. you would expect him to have a jutsu to get out of every situation. the reason hiruzen didnt use some unknown haxx jutsu from his 2000+ jutsu to break mokuton is because he didnt have any. he needed emna. now what happens when emna gets killed by 20+ mokuton clones. flower tree world GG.

exactly my point. This Owariji guy is apparently a serious Hiruzen fanboy who is disillusioned that Hiruzen was holding back his best jutsus against Orochimaru. Let's just leave this guy in his own dream world.
