*SPOILER* Couple of reasons/believable guesses why Tobi is the Elder Son of SOT6P
I'm pretty sure this has been, or something of similar topic has been posted somewhere on this crazy website, but I'd just like to touch on it.
First of all; We know that Tobi is intimately linked with Uchiha Madara's history, and even that of the Sage Of The Six Paths, but how can this be?
My guess is he's the Elder Son, and he chose to operate under Uchiha Madara's name, after all, respected Shinobi like Kakashi believe that the SOT6P is just a myth, and the Rinnegan to simply be a mutation, therefore by extent the two sons of the Sage had surely been forgotten, and logically it would make sense to operate under Uchiha Madara's name, after all... This is the man who rivaled the legendary Shodai; The First Hokage. Uchiha Madara was also feared and revered as the most legendary Uchiha who ever lived, would it not be logical for one to operate under his name?
Have you noticed that the pattern of the Elder son's eyes, replicate that of Tobi's time-space ninjutsu?
People often say to me: "How can Tobi be the Elder son? Surely he would have died by now?"
And I'm sure many of you are too wondering, but let me assure you this, Tobi may well have a technique that allowed him to live so long, I doubt that he was sleeping all these years.
Itachi has such a mastery over Tsukyomi that he can control space and time within it... so why can't Tobi/Elder Son have simply absorbed himself into this world? (Maybe Masashi Kishimoto will introduce this realm as "Yomi" The underworld of Japanese legend.)
That's enough blabber for now, I recommend that people reading this thread, and are interested should watch these three videos, this theory was mostly copied from this YouTube video, and thus I give him full credit. Most of the stuff mentioned in this thread is somewhat speculation with *some* proof, that I could not be bothered to mention, as I am new here, and this is my very first thread. This thread was just a taste into this theory, so please watch all the videos so that you may understand this theory with the best comprehension. Thanks for reading.

if tobi was the sages elder son why would he exchange his "pure sharingan" for a watered down version of his doujutsu. since the elder son was the uchiha clans ancestor and had the first sharingan and gets his genes straight from rikudo sennin, the elder son could probably use every single sharingan tech with no drawbacks. tobi doesnt even know the names of the tailed beasts so how could he be the elder son.

Seems plausible. The biggest factor that supports this is the fact that Danzo's underlings were still alive after being kept in Tobi's dimension for so long. Time could work differently in there. Who else but the son of a Shinobi god would be able to harness such a technique.

everyone (including me) thinking that tobis identity is so special. like he is tobi,setzu, madara s06p elder son,.....
