Chapter 7: Rain

Kotetsu: Izumo!
Izumo: I've exhausted my chakra reserves *panting*
Kotetsu: I'm in a similar condition *pant*
Narrator: A column of Earth then swallows the Suna leader at torso level.
Kotetsu: This should hold you all for awhile-
Suna Leader: This is unexceptable! *panting*
Narrator: Their situation is summarized and the summoned messenger falcon flies away with the given command to message Gaara. Concerned by his friend's worsened condition, he positions him behind his back and begins a gradual downward climb.
Izumo: ..Thanks *panting*
Kotetsu: *Pant* You shouldn't have pushed yourself to the brink of death!
Izumo: I didn't have a choice *pant* ..in the matter-
Kotetsu: He was that strong? *pant*
Izumo: Yes *panting*
Kotetsu: I see *pant*
Izumo: We need to lay low until we recover-
Kotetsu: I know *pant*
Izumo: (In thought) We cannot camp out in this desert-we must find grounded land!
Narrator: A Suna ninja receives the aerial message and carries it on his arm to Gaara.
Suna Ninja: Kazekage-sama..there is a message for you-
Gaara: Read it..
Narrator: The note is unwrapped and the falcon summoning pops in a poof of smoke. It is read briefly entailing the betrayal and attack carried out by his own people. Gaara closes his eyes, lowering his head slightly and nods. He then gives orders to collect the traitors and bring them before him so that he could decide their punishment.
Gaara: Begin writing this...
Narrator: An expression of gratitude for the two who exposed and caught the criminals was underway to be sent to Konoha headquarters.
Gaara: (In thought) I thought my village abolished any existing negative emotions however the rancor remained and prospered right under my nose...*great sigh*
Narrator: After letting out a sigh the young Kage closed his eyes and thought back to how he gradually changed. A couple of hours into the chilly night, Kotetsu and Izumo continued their harsh walk through the vast desert.
Izumo: You can put me down..I’ll walk the rest of the way-
Kotetsu: You sure?
Izumo: You’ve done enough for me
Kotetsu: Understood
Narrator: They then continued as the sandy landscape became rocky and the finally the outskirts of Ishigakure no Sato was in view.
Ishigakure no Sato Translation
Izumo: I suppose we’ll camp by that boulder
Kotetsu: And now I feel dead..
Narrator: He stated basically throwing himself to the ground in exhaustion from carrying his friend for a good portion of their journey.
Izumo: *Chuckling* I apologize Kotetsu
Kotetsu: Its fine *panting*
Izumo: (In thought) It feels like we’ve traveled well into the morning hours and we may oversleep as a result!
Narrator: Not knowing what to expect from the small village amidst Kaze and Tsuchi no Kuni, they begin to setup camp. It wasn’t long before Kotetsu was out cold and Izumo for the rest of the early morning hours fell in and out of sleep. As a result, Izumo was able to continue the schedule of waking up the earliest possible in order to resume their mission.
Tsuchi no Kuni Translation
Izumo: Kotetsu!-Its time to wake up!
Kotetsu: Wha-what.. *yawning* Its still dark!..
Izumo: We need to make up for lost time-
Kotetsu: Just how long have you been up?!
Izumo: Well besides you being a deep sleeper-my sleep pattern was disrupted due to the irregular hour
Kotetsu: Hehe..I see
Izumo: You know..I've been thinking-I believe those Suna ninja attacked us out of hatred-
Kotetsu: Hatred?
Izumo: Perhaps they held old grudges towards Konoha from the past-
Kotetsu: And we received a nice cut of that hate...
Narrator: The Konoha comrades then packed up and headed out of the mainly rocky landscape for the eventual grasslands that led up to a rocky mountain range which connected the Tsuchi boarder. Due to their determined wills, they make it into Tsuchi territory well before noon. Suddenly the next steps they take leave them sinking.
Kotetsu: Water?!
Izumo: Its some sort of drowning jutsu!-
[Jutsu Insight]
Izumo: Don't move!
Kotetsu: Right!
Narrator: As the two attempt to stay afloat; Izumo quickly devices a plan.
Izumo: Follow my lead Kotetsu!
Kotetsu: Roger!
Izumo: Suiton: Mizuame Nabara!
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Chakra begins to emit out of the pair's body in order to repel the sticky jutsu as Izumo spouts chakra infused water out of his mouth and onto the body of water. This changes its fluid property into an adhesive substance. Kotetsu quickly removes his scroll unraveling it and summons his Conch Shell Mace as he then slams it onto the current.
Enemy Ninja: (Shouting) DIE!!!!!
Narrator: The two use the large weapon as a lift leaping from it onto the ground as their opponent surfaces with a twin bladed katana in hand but misses them by seconds.
Izumo: (Shouting) Why do you want us dead?!
Narrator: He asked as he released his summoning. She begins to rise up out of her sinking jutsu as chakra infused water seeps throughout her body acting as a support.
Enemy Ninja: (Shouting) Don’t play around-you’re here to assassinate me!
Kotetsu: (In thought) What?
Izumo: (Shouting) Are you attacking us because you’re a nukenin?!
Enemy Ninja: This is my territory-I've dwelled in this area for as long as I can remember without being caught and I will kill any trespassers-no way in hell will I be killed!
Izumo: Just as I thought-you have confirmed your status even though we were not assigned to assassinate you-this just came about however we will bring you in as the opportunity has risen-simply surrender yourself!
Nukenin: (Shouting) NEVER!
Narrator: She answered in an enraged tone as she lowered herself onto the ground.
Kotetsu: (Whispering) Seems like we have no choice..
Izumo: (Whispering) I suppose so..
Kotetsu: (Whispering) I'll take her on-you cover me..
Izumo: (In thought) He does have her affinity's weakness-
Izumo: (Whispering) Fine but don't underestimate her-
Kotetsu: (Whispering) I know..she looks fierce-
Izumo: I won't hesitate to join in
Kotetsu: Understood..
Kotetsu: (In thought) First the Kumo kunoichi now this sexy nukenin..I hate facing women but we’re once again obligated..
