Naruto couldn't take his eyes of that big golden katana, the tip of the blade touching the floor. It was insanely heavy compared to the other swords he had held. ?What in the world it this thing??, he thought.
He had so many questions that needed to be answered, and yet, the Great Toad Sage hadn't said much. He said that he wouldn't need to gather natural energy at all... Had all of his hard training been in vain? Did all the hits of Pa's staff worth nothing? He was confused.
The Toads were now all standing and talking between them, while secretly looking at Naruto. It seemed that a new hope had filled their hearts. Pa came to him.
Fukusasku: *eyes wide open, staring at the Katana* The Sword Of Myobokuzan... I thought it was a myth... Yet here I am, staring right at it... Unbelievable.
Naruto: What!? You didn't even know it existed?
Fukusaku: Well, my father was the first to tell me about it many years ago. Every toad in this mountain knows about it, it is seen a sacred object, though the latest generation of frogs started to believe less in it, and it became a myth. It seems the Great Toad Sage had it all along...
Naruto looked at the Sage. He semmed to be tired after "spitting" the katana, and had some smaller toads around him assisting him. The huge toad looked at him and smiled.
Great Toad Sage: Come here boy... There's something else I want to give you.
He reached inside a bag that was attached to his belt, and pulled out an iron object. It was a forehead protector like the one Jirayia had. The kanji on it meant "oil". The sight of it made Naruto cry a single tear.
Great Toad Sage: It's a sign that you are human who's been blessed with the power of us toads. You're the second one to have it, after little-Jirayia.
Naruto: *whiping face* I'm afraid I can't take it Great Toad. You see this?! *pointing at his forehead protector with his thumb* It's means that i'm a true Konoha ninja! There's no way I'll replace it!
Great Toad Sage: *laughing* Just as I expected of "A true Konoha ninja"! At least do me the favour of wearing it while in our Mountain please.
Naruto: That's ok I guess...
Later that night, at Pa and Ma's house at dinner, they had the same bug soup they always ate, but this time there was a deep silence in the room, almost uncomfortable.
Naruto: *enthusiasmed* So, Pa! Will you train me to know how to use this sword right?! I never used a Katana before. It's so heavy I can't even hold it straight.
Fukusaku: *looking at his bowl* About that... I didn't want to tell you this in the temple in front of everyone but... I'm afraid I can't train you to use that.
Naruto: *spits his soup* What?! Then who?!
Fukusaku: In fact kid... No one in this Mountain can.
Naruto: *scared* What do you mean?!
What did Fukusaku mean? Has Naruto's hope been broken to pieces again? To be continued...
