Would Itachi ever have become Hokage (no spoilers)

I was just thinking, if Itachi never killed the Uchiha clan, do you think he would have ever made Hokage? I think he would have as everyone knows what a gifted ninja he is, but i don't know if his personality suited the role.:shrug:

If Itachi didn't kill his clan... they would have rebelled against the Leaf and a war would've broken out due to the Leaf being weakened......

Or Madara would've also tried to attack the village again... because we know Itachi worked with Madara and convinced him to only take revenge against the Uchiha.....

If you want to consider Itachi as Kage, you need to also take away the uchiha's hatred, plans of rebellion and a lot of other factors...


edit: a better question, is itachi kage level? - then i answer yes.

we could have our 5th hokage as itachi ,
but then he might not look that cool.
and i'm sure in that case he won't have that much of fan following as he has now

No, he'd be going blind from the Mangekyo(which he awakened when Shisui killed himself), not permanent hokage material. Kakashi'd be a better fit.
