Ehm, what is the case exactly?
A youth [Treyvon] was walking through a neighborhood, a man [Zimmerman] thought the kid didn't belong, he called the police, dispatcher said not to follow the kid; next thing you know there's a 911 call with someone screaming for help, and then a single gunshot is heard and the screaming stops. The youth was dead and unarmed, the man claims self defense, but there weren't any witnesses who saw what happened prior to the gunshot, yet the man walked home and the police chalked it off as self defense and didn't investigate further.

Man had injuries he suffered during a scuffle with the kid and he claims the kid threw the first punch. Kid's girlfriend says she was on the phone with the kid before he was shot and he was getting unnerved because he was being followed.

There are a few more details that may or may not help Zimmerman, but the above is the absolute basics of the events that occurred. Btw, there has been nation-wide outcry against the lack of investigation but the reason is people are saying it's a racial issue/hate crime [because of one comment during the 911 call].

But by choosing to follow the kid, it's as if he initiated the confrontation, if you listen to his 911 call you here him calling him a racial slur shortly before shooting and killing a young boy? How is that not racial? While I agree with others that the hoodie argument is stupid and that not all crimes like these are hate related, but in this case it's just so blatantly obvious it's hard to ignore

By law following anyone with intent is called Stalking. It's a misdemeanor in the state of Georgia and will land you 3 year in jail and an automatic permenant restaining order....and if you haven't heard a single thing the dispatcher told him, which was clear as day, "Don't follow him.", and he acknowledged the order by saying "OK.", so don't come here with that "He can follow whoever he pleases." BS.... that titwad had the intent to confront Treyvon from the jump, and the cops knew Zimmerman had a record, so why didn't they get identification or hold him for questioning...stupid ass low rate budget cops....man I hate being on the force sometime because other cops give good cops like us a bad name...

sounds like scam
They do that with every criminal that is injured. I'm pretty sure that paramedics, doctors, and police officers are legally and morally obligated to help people, even if they don't want to.

Releasing him was ridiculous frankly, but this video is just meant to incite anger in people, it has no other purpose.

Does anyone remember Tony 2012...? It was like last week right?
Nope. :)

Side Note: It has come to my attention that Zimmerman, the shooter, was given a court date and that there were witnesses who saw the shooting.

With that being said, it sounds like the police did do their job and Zimmerman may serve time. The police just didn't see any reason to make him sit in jail. He admitted shooting Treyvon, and he said it was in self-defense. He was probably given a NTA (Notice to Appear [in court]) and ROR (Released on his own Recognizance).

It sounds to me that society has already labeled this man as guilty and thinks he should be behind bars. Frankly, if the police don't feel the man is a threat to society and believe that he will show up to court, I don't understand why this made national headlines except for the fact people decided to through the "Race" card in because of a small, apparently racial, comment that Zimmerman made.

So... I no longer care about this case. It will be sorted out in court. :) Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse can go back to their offices and let the court figure it out. No need to make Race an issue here.

Is one of the witnesses an 11 year old boy?

no, they need to stay on the case. This court date is just to shut everyone up and make it seem as something is being done, but watch him get a slap on the wrist and set free (as usual). As a result, people will than argue this and make it seem everything was done to their best ability.

We've seen this kind of stuff happen before, so until they sentence him to death this case will remain a problem (until proven otherwise)

The death sentence??!!

That is taking things way too far. You seem to be overreacting to this case a bit.

The dude would never in a million years get the death sentence for this.
