Kisame & Itachi Vs. 6 Paths of Pain

Itachi/Kisame

It would seem that Itachi would be able to locate Nagato by seeing where the chakra signals are eminating from. So that's the easy part. The hard part is taking out the six paths that would be standing in their way.

Itachi has already shown to be able to outmanuver the rinnegan, so we know he can at least land a hit or two. And in theory, Samehada could be used to break the chakra connection between Nagato and his paths by absorbing the chakra being sent to the paths - that is, if he lands a hit on one of the paths, Samehada would suck Nagato's chakra through the rods (and yes, I know it's not exactly the same as using puppets).

That being said it would definitely be a close fight - but I see the Itachi/Kisame team winning since Itachi would be able to gather intel quickly.

Chakra frequencies can't be seen by Sharingan or Byakugan, otherwise Neji or Kakashi would have reported it.

Itachi and Kisame probably the winner, they're also most likely the best pair in Akatsuki...so good teamwork + high abilities = WIN

Hmmm, you have a point there. (so + rep for that)

However I still say Itachi would figure it out by observing that all the peins have the exact same chakra flowing through them and that the chakra networks are pierced by the black rods.

Knowing that, he'd just have to figure out where Nagato would be to most easily control the Peins (i.e. the highest point around)

How you make everyone healthy but take away pain's chibaku tensei? I don't think you guys understand the inferiorness of the sharingan compared to the rinnegan, any genjutsu is pointless seeing how the six paths can't feel physical or mental pain & can regenerate upon naraka path or the gedo himself, kisame can only take chakra thats eminating from ones body, in other words it has to breach the surface before samheada(Spelling) can absorb,for example he absorbed bee's chakra cloak, hence the word CLOAK PPL.

Also the six paths of pain are all nagato's power split up, If they did somehow beat the six paths nagato is the real problem because he himself is on another level compared to the six paths in terms of power,chakra & ninjutsu. he is gedo! Just because he can't move doesn't mean he would just sit there and die.
His deva path alone stood toe to toe with the six tails, He even managed to contain the eight tails!
