Has anybody noticed that kishi keeps on restraining itachi?.

Against kakashi, kakashi noted that itachi couldve killed him if he wanted to

Against oro, he couldve cut his head off, instead of his hand.

Agaisnt deidora he couldve let him blew himself him, but for obvious reasons akatsuki needed deidora.

I need not explain the sasuke situation, although even after all the advantages sasuke had, from itachi's intent, blindness, movement, low chakra, coughing up blood he still couldnt beat him.

Even after seeing edo itachi, when i thought finally we would see a bloodlusted, healthy itachi with intent to kill, kishi had taken away this and now itachi is fighting to capture instead. Is blood lusted itachi such a formidable opponent that kishi doesnt want us to see him in this mode?

This

Itachi's not going to rage for no actual reason like Sasuke likes to do frequently.

Blood lusted in the sense that he actually wants to kill. I know he is a pacifist and a good guy, but killing an energy isnt bad, they are ninja's. For example we say a bloodlusted minato when he run his kunai straight at tobi's head, luckily tobi was intangible at that time. Similarly he didnt hesitate nearly stabbing A with a kunai and killing that fodder during the war

I think, the only explanation is that Itachi was holding back in these fights, since he never meant to really kill those people. He was avoiding murdering people again, after he killed his own clan. Secretly, he was still on Konoha's side, that's why he didn't kill Kakashi, neither he did kidnap Naruto on the occasions when he could do it easily.

And since he can't kill Kabuto, we probably won't see him fight at his full power yet again.

At the highlighted, i agree. The only real time itachi was in bloodlust was when he had to kill his clan and even this we didnt really get to see what happened

if itachi attacked any akatsuki members at the time it would mean sudden death for him.
and who has he fought to capture since he has been edo?
for the most point he is for the kill, hence sealing nagato.

I also think you could say Itachi was trying to kill Nagato considering he sealed him, used amaterasu on him, and etc.

i would say there is a difference in being blood lusted/wanting to kill and to kill to protect your village

* he didnt wanted to kill kakaashi
*even if he cut of oro his head he wud still be alive m he cud probaly seal him tho
*deidara was indeed needed / he couldnt just go against his leader #pains orders
but yes ur right he has been restrained i hoep the coming chapter we get to see his true potential but it will not be an easy fight tho kishis not gonna let kabuto die so easily i think [wichh annoys me]

I'm saddened by this too, one of the Uchiha I actually managed to like and Kishi made him sick and undercover which is just another word for not doing much. Though I think Kishi gave him due credit, we saw his genjutsu prowess when he instantly defeated Base Naruto twice and Deidara too, we saw his speed when he was fighting with Kakashi while two jounin present didn't know what was going on, we saw his shuriken skills when he matched Sasuke's shuriken which was mentioned by databook fo fire as fast as a flash of lightning(unbelievable hype), we saw his fire and water techs as well(fun fact-when he clashed Goukakyu with Sasuke he formed multiple seals in the time it took Sasuke to form one) and we know Tsukuyomi Amaterasu and Susanoo from when he fought Sasuke and recently Nagato, certainly one of the most powerful ninja to ever live. Wish he wasn't sick.

From his response here i agree you can argue that he was serious

But im talking 1 vs 1 blood lust. Also sasuke has joined in against kabuto :flaw:

Itachi did ask for Sasuke's help lol. Of course he wouldn't of been able to if Sasuke didn't follow him, but Sasuke wants answers from his precious nii san. Still I agree that it would be nice to see Itachi in a 1v1 fight seriously.

I think his experiences with the 3rd great ninja war removed all bloodlust from him (for the most part). As you said Itachi is a pacifist and therefore will try to resolve things without blood shed. In saying that if someone was a serious threat the the safety of konoha I don't doubt he would destroy them in a frenzy of red (uchiha massacre anyone?)

Well he had every intention of stopping edo tensei even before he saw sasuke and tried to distract him and all that didnt work, thats why in the end he gave up and made sasuke an offer, helping him stop it and with that sasuke gets the info he wants. Dont get me wrong, i like the idea of the uchiha bro's on the same team and what not, but i want to see itachi's full potential 1 vs 1 and not only has sasuke stopped this from happening, kishi has also restrained him
