Hanzo and the sanin

Whenever people talk about Jiraya, Oro and Tsunade and they are saying how they would win against various opponents, the fact that they have the title 'sanin' inevitably comes up.

Now, I prefer to look at their individual feats and prowess and I cringe when the fact that they are one of the sanin is brought up as a supporting argument.

They fought Hanzo and survived... they did not even beat him.
I have never seen Hanzo's name on any list of strongest ninjas in Naruto. How can you put such an emphasis on a title when it was given by a shinobi whose not rated in any top 20 list?

I saw a thread about this a while ago, my comment was that the way they obtained the name Sannin was embarrasing (losing 3 on 1) but the name has been given weight by what the 3 of them did later on. They gave worth to the name rather than the name giving worth to them

Unless you know Hanzo truth strength, which we haven't seen, than this thread is pointless.As for Hanzo name not being on anyone's list, read the previous sentence.How many list have you seen Sakumo Hatake "The White Fang" who was said to be as strong as the Sannin? The answer is none, because we don't know anything about Sakumo Hatake, like we don't know anything, well maybe a little, about Hanzo.

As for the fight between Hanzo and the sannin, the sannin were all young when they fought Hanzo.Furthermore, we have seen all the sannin power and know base on what we have seen that the sannin are all extremely strong and skilled.

Three jonin versus a Kage level shinobi.So you are saying if Kakashi, Gai, and Asuma were all able to survive a fight with the Third Raikage they don't deserve and credit when other shinobi might have died?

Naruto got the titled of Hero Of The Leaf because Nagato revived all the villagers.Should he be ashamed of that titled?I mean, naruto didn't revived the villagers and he's didn't beat Nagato.In all actuality, if Nagato wanted to killed naruto and not capture him he would be dead.

I guess it's because Hanzo was defeated by Pain so easily. Hanzo defeated the Sannin before their prime. I'm pretty sure if he would have fought them again later on he probably would have lost. We didn't see Tsunade break her seal, Jiraiya use sage mode, or Orochimaru's Yamata no orochi technique when they fought.

Yes, a kunoichi who can go nearly invincible to physical attacks, taking madara's susano sword through the stomach without injury and has the strength of a thousand men with a acid spitting summoning is overrated.

A Shinobi with the abilities to go into sage mode, a abilities only two shinobi, with one other hinted at, have ever possess in the like 1000 years history of the great toad sages is overrated.

A shinobi who mastered the impure world technique, allowing him to summoning back the first and second hokage is overrated.

Nah the Hanzo in his prime was when he fought the 3 Sannins. If his skills diminished that means he was no longer in his prime. But I was saying people don't consider his strength because Jiraya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade were not in their prime yet. But Hanzo was at the peak of his strength.

I f**ked that up, I meant to say the Hanzo you saw Pain(Nagato) beat wasn't Hanzo in his prime.And I know and agree that Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya weren't at the peak of their strength and Hanzo was, but it's not like the three sannin were push overs in there younger years.

We have seen an Edo Hanzo fighting who was being controlled.We haven't seen Hanzo fighting in the manga.As for not hearing anyone outside of the leaf calling Naruto the Hero Of The Leaf ;how many people know of that titled?A better question is how long it took for the sannin to be known as the sannin by the shinobi world?Naruto hasn't been the Hero of the leaf for more than a few months, the Sannin were Sannin for decades.
